Patronichi: The kingdom comes to life!
Hey folks, ENORMOUS progress over the last couple of days! Here's a quick list of everything I managed to bang out:
bug tested and polished up the 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝒶 managing menu
finished all the art and icons for every role
added walking and idle animations for every role
added a camera to the main kingdom room!
added movement and idle behaviors for the 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝒶𝓈 when they're in the kingdom
I'm most excited to show off the last bullet, because it finally feels like a game is shaping up here. take a look!
look at 'em bouncing around!
You may also notice the debut of a new role here, the egg (which some of you asked to start out as!) There will be a handful of roles in the game that have a slightly different body from the standard one, just to add a little variety~ And since a couple of people have asked me if greg will be included in the final game, I will! I think the egg role suits him very well. Greg the egg. I mean, come on.
I also learned how to use a camera for the first time, thanks to an amazing quick tutorial by Sara Spalding (my queen, my gamemaker goddess)
the gif doesn't really do it justice here, but you can pan all over the map now to peep at all the 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝒶𝓈, and it's buttery smooth thanks to a great formula I learned in the tutorial (it works kind of like a lerp function!)
Okay, that's all from me tonight guys! are you ready for the thank you joke today? (It's pretty on theme...)
Q: What comes first, the chicken or the egg?
A: I'll order both and let you know.

Hey! Just curious, do you prefer gamemaker over godot?
i have been using gamemaker since i was a kid, before godot was even a thing, so its my preference only out of familiarity haha. but if i were starting today i definitely would pick up godot, there are a lot of external reasons that make it so much more indie friendly
we love sara spaulding!! she's genuinely was such a great teacher while i was still a baby at coding, she taught me everything i know fr
