Brackenholt Camp
After weeks of planning, the camp was finally ready for the siege. The palisades, reinforced by pointed stakes, only provided a small comfort to the soldiers within. Guards manned the towers, yet it was known that the enemy's magically-attuned force could blast through it at a moment's notice.
Within, seasoned soldiers trained the newly conscripted militia, hoping that such an investment may save their life, if only to fight a little while longer before falling in battle. Despite the grim outlook, they knew what had to be done.
Their homes, now distant memories, were in jeopardy with the threat from the enemy looming ever closer to the land they call their own. They could ignore it no longer, and while the odds were very much against them, they prepared.
Weapons were sharpened, siege ladders crafted, warbeasts were tended, and nerves stayed by the reserves of rum and salted meat, now given to bolster the morale of those about to engage in combat. If there ever was a chance of safety for their homeland, it now rests with the War Camp and it's brave occupants.
