KoD Lore Post: Vehlis

When going around the orc camp, you may have heard characters reference a human woman who trades with orcs. Just who is this woman and why does she dare travel in an orc camp? You'll find out in the next update, but we're revealing a little about her in this post!

The focus of this game is Lundar, a large country attempting to expand into an empire. But it isn't the only country in the world, and its neighbors will play a role in the plot. One of those neighbors is Carchedon, an island nation that has established itself as one of the world's strongest economic powers. It isn't an aggressive power... but woe to those who renege on their debts to one of its powerful guilds or banks.

Vehlis hails from Carchedon but lives in Lundar as a representative of one of their primary institutions. Her only stakes in the ongoing wars are economic, so she'd be as happy to support orcs as to support humans. Citizens of Carchedon don't hold the same views on many subjects, so Vehlis is a potential ally for Sabia - or potentially a dangerous enemy.

Our goal with Kingdom of Deception is to create a broad game that covers a huge amount of content, so we plan to keep expanding the foundation we've started in order to support that. You can expect more content along the lines of what you've already seen, but we plan to keep exploring new territory.  Expect us to follow up on the little hints like Vehlis, orc customs and celebration, monster content, and more. We want to sweep it all up into a huge plot that will be memorable and satisfying!
