February 2026 Book Update!

Dear WaveShapers,

I don't have a solution for world peace, but I can offer an alternative to doom scrolling - here are a few ideas to spend some quality time making music/with your synths, in this month's update:

  • A way to fake polyphonic aftertouch on a regular keyboard. Admittedly, there's a little title-bait there, but I think you're really going to like this one regardless. It's a new way to look at using the velocity parameter of regular MIDI keyboards (Page 82)

  • A new detuning idea (Page 177)

  • A keyscaling idea (Page 189)

  • A new section with an easier way to master for atmos/spatial (based on my video from last month) (Page 523)
