Next-gen MPC 3 vs MPC 2: Here's what's new
Hi!
Akai just announced an upcoming open beta of its new MPC 3 firmware, and it's quite an impressive update. Its main "home" screen has been completely redesigned, it has a proper arranger, a proper mixer and many other fun new features.
All the details in the video! No bonus content on this one but more coming soon...
All my best,
Ziv (I test betas for bugs so you don't have to, on a youtube channel called "Loopop"...)

This might breathe some fresh air into my use of samples in a grrovebox. I've got an Octatrack, and don't like the workflow. Only makes sense to me if I use it every day for a couple of weeks. Once I put it down for more than a week, I forget all the ways you do stuff. MPC is at the other end. It is fairly easy to get the hang of, but feels like a hodgepodge of features thrown together--too many ways to do the same thing. Hopefully, MPC 3 will streamline that workflow. If not, I may sell both and get a Digitakt II.
Finally! I never been too inspired with the MPC workflow. This new UX looks fantastic and more intuitive. Also, the last firmware version, 2.15 has a bug where it doesn't recognize incoming MMC messages anymore. I use a Morningstar onstage and this was a bad surprise. Talking with an Akai tech, the only solution left was to downgrade to v2.14. Sure enough that worked. I really hope this v3 beta does fix this MMC bug.
Looks like they've taken a number of nice Force features and melded them into the MPC workflow. Looks very interesting, thanks Ziv!
My pleasure! Except clip launching though!
