Monthly Sketchbook: May 2025

Hello again friends, it is time once more for the monthly sketchbook recap! This time we have May and I did a decent bit of sketching this month actually as you can see. Some initial sketches trying to just noodle on some KL stuff as this was the start of the month and I hadn't really decided on anything yet. After that I was just sort of sketching some random bits and bobs until I sketched this first weird spear knight dude.

Once I sketched that knight I sort of wanted to explore it some more so I made another variant, and then I did another one. Once I had these ideas started sort of forming about this endless tower that expanded seemingly forever both upward and downward. With that idea in mind I thought it would be fun to explore more designs for weird things you could find there. As you go up things get weird in one way and if you choose to go down they turn another way.

These have been a lot of fun and I hope to keep exploring this "tower" as a means to scribble ideas out from time to time.

As the month winded down and I had a few minutes to breath I finally sketched a couple rough mock up things for a silly game idea I have had for a while. I won't get into the details now but it was a fun bit of exploration and maybe I'll expand on it more down the road.

As we decided to start the year we are going with silly fake food chains for our design briefs and the idea I currently have for this second design is a bit wild haha.
