Monthly sketchbook: April 2025

Hey folks, it is once again time for another sketchbook post! This is for April and while I didn't actually do that much sketching I think there are still some fun bits in here. Let's check it out!

Firstly, we have a couple sketches from the beginning of the month after the Switch 2 direct. I absolutely love the new design of DK and was playing around with some shapes and stuff just trying to feel my way around an interpretation. Gotta get back to it for sure!

Next is just a page of little random doodles. We have the Knight from Knight Light, a Detective Dino and just some creature exploration.

After that I started thinking about Spider-Man and an idea that would see a younger Peter sort of like junior high age and how that could look. So I drew Peter as well as a version of Doc Ock for this. Some more notes jotted down to get to some other characters for it down the road for sure.

Lastly for this month was sketching up an idea I've wanted to do for a bit and after the Mario Kart World direct I just had to do it. I wanted to do a new merch design around the toad with the hamburger hat so I sketched it up. The idea was pretty clear in my mind from the beginning so didn't change a ton. The shirt is all done too and up now in the shop.

That is all for this edition of the monthly sketchbook but I will be back soon with another post talking about the new month of May since it is Knight Light month after all. I wanna chat a little about KL over all, some of the stuff I want to do in the world of it and about how I go about making new KL art so I hope you'll look forward to that as well.

As always, I can't express how much I appreciate all the support of my work. Times are tough but I am glad you're all here. Be good to yourself. Be good to each other.
