How hyperspace works in Star Wars is you accelerate to near light speeds so that you can shift into hyperspace, an alternate dimension which exists beyond the light speed barrier. However gravity wells exist in both real time space and hyperspace so if you hit a gravity well or leave from inside a gravity well you run the risk of either getting atomized or being forced out in an inconvenient place.
Even as a huge Star Wars fan, I never knew that. So that’s why why hyperspace lanes are a thing. It didn’t make sense that they existed when I thought hyperspace was just going a lot faster than light speed
The next episode is a stand out, don't want to hype it up too much tho.
