Looking for Feedback: Allegheny Yard

I’ve been working on an updated design for Allegheny Yard on the P&B, and I’d love to get some feedback before I go any further with it.

A friend of mine, Pappy92, actually put this design together for me, and I’d like to get some additional opinions on the overall track arrangement, flow, and functionality. Does the layout make sense? Is there anything that looks awkward or could be improved?

There's a few screenshots below showing the design. We’re also still trying to figure out a new location for the museum, so if you have any ideas on where that could potentially fit into the yard or elsewhere on the layout, I’d love to hear those as well.

Obviously only members of the Executive tier currently have access to the route itself, and I certainly don't expect anyone to just sit down and thoroughly review the yard or something. So I figured it would be helpful to get a few more sets of eyes on the design here!

So, even if you don’t have access to the route, take a look at the screenshots and let me know what you think. Sometimes a fresh perspective can catch something I’ve overlooked.

Once I get this sorted out I can get back to making P&B videos again. This is one of those stupid problems that needs to be solved before much else can proceed.

Thanks!

The new steel mill will actually be a bit further away (off the image) but you get the idea ;-)

adding a dedicated medium sized yard for the steel mill would be interesting. Tracks long enough to handle the incoming coal, and ore and outbound steel products and it would give #10 somewhere to live.

Perhaps adding a small derail switch on the main track left of the screen past the signals. For the area where the old steel mill will be removed, I suggest a simple warehouse district next to downtown. The old tracks connecting to the yard may still be there for other businesses to accommodate the trains. The yard itself imo looks great.
