What About The Unity Version

We’ve been getting absolutely bombarded with questions about "the main game", and honestly, fair enough. We haven’t been super clear about what’s happening on that front, and our recent shift in direction has definitely caused some confusion. So let’s clear the air.
So… what’s going on with the Unity version?
Here’s the deal: we’ve officially shifted gears. The Unity version has taken a backseat to working directly in Ren’Py. That means instead of developing content in Unity and then porting it to Ren’Py Events, we’re flipping the script.
Going forward, new content will debut directly in Ren’Py Events, and Unity will get those updates later. No more waiting on Unity for fresh stuff.
When will the Unity version get updated?
The short version? We don’t know. We’re not putting a timeline or release date on it.
Why? Because digging through SR7’s logic spaghetti in Unity takes a week or two, and that’s time that could be better spent drawing boobs. And let’s be honest, we’d all rather see more boobs.
(Small ones, big ones, we love them all equally.)
So yes, SU:PC (the Unity build) is on the sidelines for now, but it’s not gone. It will still get updates, just on a more relaxed and unpredictable schedule, like SU:Android.
We hope this clears up the confusion. As always, thank you for the support, the questions, and the patience. Now, back to drawing them tiddies.

Unbelievable that you're abandoning the game that made all of you so much fanfare. You could easily do one or two more releases, wrap up a couple of story lines, put in an ending and call it done. And then shift your development to whatever squirrel you guys have decided to chase.

i actually like that i think you will be doing the events first and then when they are done then put them into the main game i do wonder when they will be adding content to the halloween event though i hope when they change the place and add the last 2 slots for some reason i kinda hope that one pair will be megan and artemis after megan mentally breaks
Legacy events have issues, and the Halloween event is no exception. We have identified the need to potentially rebuild entire events in order to add content. Or we have to analyze and plan extensively. So I think we're going to take a mixed approach with old legacy content to finish it.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But you want the Unity version before the Ren'py? If so can you elaborate why? To be clear doing it the way we have adds about 9-12 weeks of work chasing logic. Moving to the flipped schedule would result in maybe 2 weeks of work, and that work can be placed in more productive time slots (like if SR7's hand is bugging him from drawing).
Dang. Stayed for PC, ended up with Android in the end. What a shame.

Thank you for the clarification, but I know you said you have no idea when you would go back to the Unity version, but once you are finished with Apocalypse event as the finale of the main plot,eventually you are going to have to go back to the ‘main game’. The events can only delay that inevitability but eventually you will need to go back to it which you said you will. But It’s like a wound that no matter you try to plaster it, it still needs to be stitched up and disinfected as the wound will still be there and will get worse. Events are basically the bandage. Sure it’s nice to address feedback by focusing on the main plot, but when you focus on one, you derive of another part of the audience, another. No one is happy. What I don’t understand is, why this rush to finish the main plot? Why frustrate people who love the main game? Sure there are complaints to finish the main plot, but I have a feeling those same people regret even giving that feedback in the first place in 2023. Sure they would want you to advance the main plot, but not at the expense of the cell content, the meta bordello and the grand slam which is the bread and butter of the game that people go on patreon to support for.. You may disagree with that, but you are the one who made it, not me. If you didn’t want cell content to be what everyone was clamouring for more, then you should not have put it in the game in the first place. When you finish the Apocalypse Event, this problem will need to be resolved. Whether if it needs to be a Something Unlimited Sequel(Ren’Py version) or separating chunks of the main game into their own events like you have done with Gotham and Themyscira, as long as you can figure out the problem. It will make every part of the audience happy. -The ones who just want the main plot.(Which it’s an adult game, who plays it just for the plot?) -The ones who want to see Superheroines corrupted into slutty versions of themselves. -The ones who want to manage a Superheroine Brothel. Two of them are being neglected and one is prioritised at the moment (And I know you said your going back to the Bordello this year so that’s good). And a lot of people want to see superheroines corrupted, not Lex go into events just to speak to DC characters and bang them. Montoya is the one in that event is actually similar to a corruption story from the cells. Anyway I hope you succeed,just don’t be surprised if people will end up dropping out because they waited 9 years assuming this project will be complete. Plus with cost of living, they have to think about which project to invest in closely as they want to support projects that will have great feedback going forward. They will invest in you, but not yet. Not with this kind of reception because it’s kind of divided this community in three factions, factions which I’ve already laid out. Which is not a healthy thing for a community to thrive when it’s basically attacking each other.
I'm going to try and summarize what you have said, and correct me if I'm wrong. But you're saying that we will eventually have to go back and add to the cells, bordello, and glamour slam, after the events. And that the events are upsetting people because they do not focus on the "main game". I want to build on your statement a little because I think your separating sections of the game already, and then taking our content additions outside Unity as something that won't get included in it. This is false. All content that is going into Events in Ren'py will be going into Unity. It's just we don't know when that build will come out. Our goal is for you to either play Unity or the Ren'py events and not see a difference in content. Now I want to touch base on why you want the old content, and I think you stated it very well with "alot of people want to see superheroines corrupted" . I 100% agree with that, and we have stated that the Gotham content has been light on corruption. So to continue the dialogue may I ask, what if Lex corrupted some superheroines in the events? Would that get you what you want?

This is it exactly, we just reversed the order to which things are added to.
Would it not just be better to have the whole thing on Renpy? Sure it would take time to do, but having everything in one form would to me seem like a much easier option in the long run rather than jumping back and forth.
In 2021 when we began the SU:Android build out we got an estimate on a time frame for a full rebuild. That estimate was end of 2025-mid 2026. In 2021 that was going to be way to risky to dump a huge sum of cash on. We're talking $200k+ and we're not even there yet. You can see why we chose Android specifically and got that out in 2 years.

Feels like throwing away work for the unity version that's been 10 years in the making to only focus on arguably worse version.
how is the Ren'py version worse? In my opinion, it is generally better. Less RNG with the cells and such. Its two main parts where it is worse is the content not yet added (for me, particularly Crush), and the cheat menu, which i think is more convenient to use in the Unity Version. And, of course, that the "complete" REn'py built is Android exclusive.
I just wish that the big Ren'py built was also available on PC, rather than just Android.
