I’m so hyped for a couple of upcoming projects, but I can’t share too much info just yet. Some have to do with 5E.2024, and as I’m sure most of you know, creators can’t officially include things in the revised rules until the license update in early 2025.
What this means is as soon as I can, they’ll be releases for things such as new Weapon Masteries and subclasses that take advantage of 5E.2024 improvements. You’ll also see a massive update for older subclasses, classes, backgrounds, and species for the revised rules.
There’s a ton of content planned to close out 2024, much of which delves into the void, the heavily requested Reaper class, and Patron suggestion player options.
Since I haven’t done a recap post in some time, here’s a look back at what you might have missed!
Samurai utilize an array of combat stances and techniques to get the upper hand. While a barbarian or fighter might stand toe to toe with an enemy, absorbing blows with their rage or heavy armor, the samurai prefers a more versatile approach. Thanks to their extensive training, the samurai has a repertoire of combat stances, each providing unique benefits. By swapping into different stances as new problems arise in combat, combined with a multitude of martial techniques empowered by vigor, the samurai is more than ready to showcase pure martial skill.
The Scholar Class has been updated to V1.7 and now includes a new subclass, the Void Scarred! Along with the new subclass are updates to the Field Notes feature, Physician healing buff and new artwork and layout updates.
The Witch Class has also been updated to its V1.7 and includes a new subclass, Coven of the White Witch. The Witch had major buffs to bring its power level up to 5E.2024 with increases to spirits bound, misfortune scaling, a new 7th level feature and soul essence option. Plus two new bind spirit options and subclass reworks for the Alluring Flora and Grave.
Vastly different from their counterparts, the Bards of the College of Gravesinging do not offer a cheerful song or humorous anecdote. Instead, grave singers explore the forces of life, death and undeath by creating macabre art with their voice and by calling to creatures from the grave. These somber entertainers give haunting performances known to fill an audience with nervous glances and fearful screams.
While many gods value order in obedience to law, others embrace their desire for absolute control. Clerics of the tyranny domain are typically concerned with bringing the masses to heel, believing that by doing so, the world and its people will have what they desperately need. Others may follow a deity that values domination in the belief that it may strengthen their own authority. In Erenel, the god who would not bow, Vyse Tyranal, is the most influential deity with access to this domain.
Druids of the Circle of Horrors choose to listen to the whispers originating beyond the stars to protect the natural from the unnatural. Seeking to understand the void’s alienlike influence regrettably changes the druid. Many accept this warping influence in hopes of preserving the natural order with understanding, yet most slowly succumb to madness, becoming pawns for otherworldly beings.
One of the most ancient and feared of all curses, lycanthropy will transform the most civilized into a ravening beast. A monk who follows the Way of the Werebear is cursed with lycanthropy. Whether the werebear’s curse was inherited from their parents or passed on after suffering an injury from another lycanthrope, the monk has learned to control their affliction.
Those with lycanthropy often describe it as feeling like you share a portion of yourself with another entity that can influence your thoughts. By altering their spirit to resonate with this curse, and with the help of moon tea, monks who follow this tradition augment their skill in combat by transforming into a werebear. Only those with the utmost disciple can harness the ferocity of the beast within.
Your innate magic comes from your death and resurrection. Your life ended in a horrific event such as a ghost’s possession, a lycanthrope's attack or a vampire’s fangs. This tragic event left its mark on your soul, and upon your resurrection, a piece of your existence remains locked in the ethereal plane. Now, your vision of the spirit world is never-ending. Hidden from others, memories of those who have fallen are a constant reminder of your dark past.
Your life's work is to understand the Black Sea of Void surrounding Erenel and the eldritch horrors that call it home. You’ve possibly stumbled upon a Null’s cult, uncovering a horrible act while following a trail of clues left behind. This discovery has no doubt changed your outlook on the world, while simultaneously providing sensitivity to whispers from beyond the veil. When a Null stirs, you are plagued with nightmares and unexplained desires, driving you to odd behaviors. Nevertheless, the encounter has left you primed to help others deal with eldritch threats and opened your mind to hunt for traces of the void.
A manifestation of the creator god’s final dreams and memories, an archway walker appears as a walking foundation with four legs that carries a portal on its back. The archway walker slowly wanders where it sprang into existence, never traveling further than a day’s journey in either direction out of fear of crumbling into dust. It has one purpose, to find creatures worthy enough to enter its archway portal and experience the last thoughts of the creator god.
Named after the sixth and deepest layer of sin in the Below, the legendary artifact Lights End is a devilish gift created by the Lord Below from the fallen remains of a worthy pit fiend. Infused with the pit fiends might, this greataxe serves as a symbol of its wielder’s worth among the domineering society from which it came. Currently, six Lights End artifacts exist, one for each of the six layers of sin, with each claimed by an archduke or archduchess chosen by the Lord Below.
The Spire of Twilight was crafted from one of Aymara the Foremother’s fallen branches by the Midnight Eyrie. This was done by request of the Luniwyn, the Silver Maiden, during a particularly troubling lunar cycle. As Luniwyn stood vigilant in the night sky, shining with the silver light of the stars and forcing back the unending void, her vision expanded. Blessed with all sight, Luniwyn saw her eventual death and the need for another to one day ascend and join the plight shared by the sun and stars. Only one truly able and willing to stare back at cosmic horror may unlock the Spire of Twilight’s full potential.
Long ago, a mysterious order of scholars believed it possible to wield the power of the unspeakable through the Rite of Nullification, a ritual that silences the mind prior to consuming eldritch scripture. Now all that remains from their endeavors is a grotesque tome filled with unintelligible markings written in black ichor. Strangely, holding on to the book fills its owner with hope for their future.
This elixir is not filled with a drinkable liquid. Instead, the elixir contains the amorphous mass of a horrifying aberration born from Yig Nachal the Webbed Oculus, an otherworldly being that gnaws beyond time and space. To gain the benefit of this elixir, the creature inside must be swallowed, allowing for the void organism to bond with the user from within.
Eye of Oblivion calls for the great void eye to watch over a cursed creature. If they upset the great void eye, the creature will take heavy psychic damage.
Grasping Tendril is for a spell caster who wants to control the battlefield by conjuring spectral barbed tendrils that attach themselves to the unlucky targets.
