The Earth Space Intrusion Macro, that is; he’d estimated a solid eighteen and he was straight-up wrong about that. It had only taken him twelve.
Twelve grueling hours of getting the ring not to ping in his ear at the presence of fucking airplanes— in New York, of all places.
Unless he was on the lookout for another 9/11, he really didn’t think he needed all the knowledge an air traffic controller got. Beside all that, though, this shit was kind of becoming a pattern; the being wrong about timescales at least.

The E-S-I-M wasn’t something that he really expected to need any time soon. Sure, he may have been a Green Lantern but the Earth-Space Intrusion Macro was just a precaution more than anything else. Haven’t even been free a whole two months, even.
An if/then, if there ever was one.
He was planning for something that might not happen for years — at least, he was hoping it was years. After all, this wasn’t the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and, as weird as it sounded, this was real life now.
His real life.
And how often did alien invasions happen anyway?
What were the odds that one would even happen within the first year of him ending up in this fucked-up fascist version of Marvel?

Curious, do you have a plan to explain why he’s in earth 1610 or leave it up to interpretation? I’m concerned about his family. You’re making me FEEL for this boy how dare you sir! 😝 I seriously hope he gets therapy or a doctor or something to help him heal from what SHIELD did to him. (Seriously that was fucked up what they did.) But seriously don’t over do yourself. Take some breaks. Look after yourself.

I always want to fit a setting when I write it.
I love the little code jargon that he has to do for ring automatic functions, its a really fun quirk to show his own personality as a Green lantern. Only thing I'd be worried for is if he accidentally pigeon holes himself with logic when his ring is meant for infinite possibilities.
