Massive Disaster 31C (Preview)
Benezia’s hands came down and the whole room went up.
A wave of blue lifted nearly everything in front of Benezia, the crew no exception as the floor was no longer a floor a half-second after ‘kill them’.
Air pressure dropped and his ears popped as a whole section of grating skimmed against his mantle field, ripped from the deck like the skin off a fish. Reinforced glass bursting from partitions all at once, entire planes contributed to the weather event that was a Matriarch’s biotics; the shrapnel a glass storm. Benches joined in, torn from floor bolts, and an airborne Zedd was forced to duck as a centrifuge the size of a freezer shot past his head — a power conduit trailing behind it like a tail.
What the- He was still airborne, still spinning, still trying to understand what the hell was going on when—
Jesus! When blue caught him.
Two fields overlapped — one bright, one steadier — and the ceiling that he’d been moments from making contact with got postponed by several meters of warped space.
He only needed to glance down to see them — John and Liara, hands out and up — layering biotics over each other just slightly wrong and humming at a pitch that put something bitter in the back of his throat.
Still — “Thank fuck!” — he wasn’t going to complain as his attention landed on Benezia with her hands still out. Okay. okay, that’s a Matriarch. Good to know. No matter how much it felt like he was biting foil, he was gonna keep his shit-talk to himself just this once.
“Motherf-!” Ashley was trying her best to do the same, the Soldier gripping tight to a catwalk a solid story beneath Zedd. Tali was almost completely silent on the floor as she clung to Wrex’s back. Like Jane, John and Liara, the krogan’s biotics were doing something to keep him firmly planted down where he belonged.
John dropped to one knee, teeth showing and hands still held high. The Commander’s whole frame folded down, the barrier’s contour going concave where it shouldn’t right above him. “Li… Liara!”
