Paragon V Pavement Thoughts

Alright.

Now that Paragon to Pavement has gotten an actual run, I want to hear what people are thinking about it.

Not just “more” or “less,” though you can say that too.

I mean the story itself.

This is one of those stories where I have a pretty clear idea of where it can go, but I also want to know what parts are actually landing for you guys.

What are your thoughts?

Basically, talk to me.

The stories great! But like all the other lower priority projects you have, we ALL just wish there was more. Your idea’s are immaculate so we just wish that ya didn’t have to split your time between ALL your stories. Maybe invest in a Shadow Clone type technique? Lol, Keep it up Z.

I think most of the these beginning chapter acted as the protagonist silently screaming and internalizing damn near everything, never letting his thoughts out to anyone. This made some of the chapters feel a bit lacking, in so far plot wise, though that can maybe attributed to the fact that dispatch is a fairly short game. However, I definitely think the 2 most recent chapters have had Sky finally start communicating to the rest of the Cast starting with Sonar and Prism. This alongside the recent mission has definitely caused to story to feel like it was gaining momentum.

I also want to note that I've appreciated the little seeds of internal dissonance with Sky seeing commercialization of altruism as compared to his previous world.

I fuck with it heavy but to be honest, the pacing is a little vexing at times, if you get me? It's a me thing thouy, the chapters are too short/not long enough at times in my opinion, and 2 to 4 to 5 whole chapters (might be an exaggeration on my part but that's how it feels) seem dedicated to just one day or arc, so in my view chapters with much more content in them could help more, but keep in mind this isn't me trying to pressure you into anything. Besides that, I love everything about this

Yeah, the chapters are meant to be dedicated to one day or so as episodes 2 and 3 of dispatch are only a day. And those two days are the bulk of characterization and important events

I think the story has a good foundation: and it's true to the setting of dispatch. I think my main critique is there's no real tension in the story: since at the end of the day, in the setting of dispatch it's more about personal struggles with self, rather than with the world. Sky feels like a hero:but he also feels like he's fighting against the world itself, but dispatch doesn't have that corporatist feeling at least on the surface. So to me that's why it feels kind of off. But people like blonde Blazer, Robert, and Chase make the world feel less darker than it actually is.

Basically, i'm just analyzing what the setting implies. Especially in regards to the cut and the nature of subscriptions and the population of heroes.

First of, I know next to nothing about either of the settings in this story. So one of my favorite parts has been seeing the world of Dispatch through Sky's eyes, and Paragon via his memories. You are very good at actually showing rather than telling here in my opinion.
