PSA: playback glitches
Just wanted to let The Listenership (the Sixth Estate) know that this site is having weird problems with audio playback – I don't know if it's happened to you guys, I don't even have a smartphone & don't listen to shit that way, but over the past week or so, there's been a "scratched CD" sort of error with audio files. Glitching, popping, the occasional microsecond skip that cuts out part of a word, etc.
I've looked into it, and it's not a problem with the audio files; it's likely a problem with Patreon's upload/playback codec, about which, ahem, [comments here]. But the glitches stop, at least for a while, if you reload the podcast episode, and because it's a problem with the site and not the audio, you might be able to download the shows directly and bypass that layer of code. (I thought Patreon got rid of downloads, but they're still here, just hidden – you click the "..." icon in the lower right corner of the show description, and you can download anything you're subscribed to.)
So, like a true American, I recognize that there is a problem, and I recognize your suffering, insofar as it is not my fault. Allahu akbar. Genocide's up to 700 murders per day.

Yes, Patreon has been fuckin up all the pods I listen too since they updated the website, worked better before (although it still had serious issues, just different ones then)
On the topic of recording, do you have a power soak reactive load box? What do you do for the non-multi-watt amps that don’t have an internal soak?

I listen thru my podcast app and it’s been fine
Never noticed. But ghost boy Matt’s Halloween episodes suffer from some serious errors - like it’ll go into some random mass shooting reporting or something. (Sarcasm I know that’s part of the show)

I swear there's an old qanda episode with some weird sample rate glitchy zaps but I haven't scrubbed the archives.
This is true. I took about 8 hydrocodones, 3 methadones, 4 Xanax, and most of a fifth of whiskey, and I forgot to close all the other applications when recording because I was living like a laboratory horse (in a lab where they do bigger-than-rat experiments)
Mr judge i asked this on an old episode but would you ever do a series on CHAOS by Tom o Neil and how that fits into the 60s and the larger context of that era? It’s a wild book that would be even more wild if the author made certain connections but I get why he would in the context of keeping it entirely fact based
