Great point on the actors. It seems like SK loved casting people from B-movies. Off the top of my head, three actors from Kubrick's movies also appear in episodes of MST3K--Joe Turkel, Gary Lockwood, and William Sylvester (twice!). There's a little more here: https://dcairns.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/my-theory-2-kubrick-hammer/
So I play this game called Rimworld (I know, I know) and I made a "Shining" themed run of this little... hell simulator? It creates pawns with various neurosis and quirks, has you pit them against a very hostile world. Think Prison Architect and The Sims had a baby. Only the pawns can get addicted to drugs, have artery blockage and asthma, or full-blown schizophrenia. To the point, I made the Jack, Shelly and had a third that I just made an embodiment of the times. It gives you an animal when you spawn your crew, for friendship or for slaughter. I shit you not after all that effort this game just randomly generated me a Yak. Named Lolita.
The forgotten Terry Southern deserves an episode himself.
Dinner time at the Judge house must have been a riot when you guys were kids.
Very good
Wasn't Peter Sellers supposed to play Major Kong too?
I thought Sellers broke a leg during filming and couldn’t ride the bomb so slim pickings was Kubrick’s second pick. He’s still perfect though
Loving this side series ❤️
Let’s goooooo! Ty for another episode 🙏🏼🤙🏼🖖🏼
Hell yeah. I just finished a rewatch of the Shining inspired by your brother's first ep.
