Better Than Friday - 212
Good evening everyone, finishing up 2 reviews to be posted hopefully tomorrow, very interesting stuff.
Didn't mean to push all the work till the end of the month but that's the way things have worked out.
Expect plenty to watch over the weekend.
Hope you're having a damned good Friday.
1. Book to read: Contempt by Alberto Moravia
Went to see the film by Godard not long ago, interested in reading the book.
2. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Classic German-Expressionism.
Directed by Robert Wiene.
3. Brooks Brown - How Events Shape Lives and How Traditional Storytelling Falls Short
Related to my next review.
Brooks Brown was a friend of the Columbine killers.
They spared him.
4. Bertolt Brecht and Epic Theater
A good background on Brecht whom I plan to review in the next month or so.
I used to love this song. Reminds me of a bygone era.
Pretty great slowed version here.
Went to see Bardot in Godard's 'Contempt' not long ago

Looks like the Tampa Theatre. The reformed sound stage/cathedral place. Really atmospheric way to watch films
Hi Cliff, thanks for the update. I'm not sure if you have come across this book before? From 1796, 'a violent tale of ambition, murder and incest', according to the blurb on the back cover of the edition that I read. Might be right up your street and perhaps ideal for halloween next month: https://www.amazon.com/Monk-Penguin-Classics-Matthew-Lewis/dp/0140436030
