I read Phillip Caputo's 'A Rumour of War' when I was 13. Me and my English teacher then did a swap; she lent me Michael Herr's 'Dispatches', and I lent her my Caputo. A Rumour of War describes his Vietnam War expereince, from boot camp to becoming entangled in the Phoenix Program - a civilian assassination program.
Okay I'll read Lord of Dark Places (beautiful gift) if you guys check out Horn of Africa. Caputo is not extremely well known, but this book is superb. Not just deeply meaningful, but a thrilling story. Get that coffee!
Such a great gift!
ooooo the bibliophilic part of me was overjoyed by this video lol. Just an amazing item. Cheers
I get this notification whilst re-watching the Lord of Dark Places review, what a coincidence! Awesome rare book there. I'd also recommend Let It Blurt, the biography about Lester Bangs. really great.
