Salter writes like Van Gogh. I love this novel. Light Years, his novel about a marriage, is also great.

Excited to read!!!!! I strongly, strongly recommend Garth Greenwell's Cleanness, the best sex I've read thus far, although I've yet to read Salter. Greenwell is of the best in contemporary American fiction. Do yourself a favor Cliff (:

Thomas is so right: Greenwell is a fantastic writer, and a very nice person as well! He says that Cleanness is both high art and porn, and explained to me that the novel's form is inspired by Schubert's "Winterreise".
