Better Than Friday - 334

Gooood evening y'all, how ya doing?
What a time, right? We're all just holdin' our breath. That Dorsey news was crazy.
Guess it's not hype after all. Here we go.

Here's some stuff to distract from the noise.
Review of Arthur Schnitzler's Dream Story dropping this weekend.
Wishing you a very nice weekend, and thank you very much for your continued support.

1. Book to Read: Bear by Marian Engel (Paid Link)
Just when I thought that it'd all been done - a book to make you go what?
The story of a librarian who becomes (very) close with a bear.
With a blurb on the cover from Margaret Atwood, no less.

2. The Island of Lost Souls (1932)
An early adaptation of "The Island of Dr. Moreau", featuring Bela Lugosi in the role of "The Sayer of the Law". Silly, but enjoyable.
A recommendation from friend and patron Ken, thanks very much!

3. Tommy Lee Jones Japanese Coffee Commercial

When I was visiting Tokyo, I remember seeing Tommy Lee Jones's non-emotive stoic face everywhere for BOSS coffee. It was the funniest thing.

4. (Since we're on the subject) Tommy Lee Jones Interview with Charlie Rose
I had no idea Tommy Lee Jones had planned to make an adaptation of Hemingway's 'Islands in the Stream'. That would've been terrific.

5. Rusalka by Aleksandr Petrov
A beautiful short Russian animation created with oil paintings.
