Better Than Friday - 321

Good evening everyone, hope you're having a nice Friday evening.

Just posted a review of Christopher Zeischegg's Horror novel 'The Magician' - Hope you dig it.

Currently reading James Ellroy's "The Black Dahlia" (Paid Link) - Really enjoying it so far. Coming soon.

Thanks a bunch for your ongoing support of the show!

1. Book I Need to Read: Tom's Crossing by Mark Z. Danielewski (Paid Link)
A Western by the author of House of Leaves? Yeah I'll read that.
Anybody get to this before me? If so what'd you think?

2. Bruce Langhorne - Leaving Del Norte

Found this one through my brother, terrific. Reminds me of Ry Cooder's work for the "Paris, TX" soundtrack.

3. Young James Ellroy Interview
I've been informed by a trusted source that David Lynch was also obsessed with The Black Dahlia.

4. Opening scene of "Touch of Evil" directed by Orson Welles (who also has a role in the film)
A very famous master shot. Still impressive.

5. Nat King Cole in "The Blue Gardenia" directed by Fritz Lang

Caught this film noir the other day, pretty good, but the scene with Nat makes it.
