Only 8 minutes into this, but I just read Miss Lonelyhearts over this past weekend and good god was that incredible. One of the best things I've ever read. So it was great to hear you mention it as a favorite of yours too.
Glad you read it! Yeah it's fantastic right? Short and yet packs a hell of a punch.
I figured you would get so many questions about books that I would shake it up a bit with a music question :) Man, I bet Eyehategod was a ripper of a show! Thanks for answering, I will have to check out Death Grips.
My pleasure, thanks for your question! Yes Eyehategod was incredible - someone even got a photo of me screaming into Mike IX's mic haha https://www.instagram.com/p/DNTgLl7xoTB/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I highly recommend Death Grips. Hope you dig them
just purchased a copy of Cartoons, look forward to reading it! thanks for the rec
My pleasure, hope you laugh!
Well, we gave it a try with Spanish classes, maybe I could drop some Portuguese lessons in our meetings? That would be fun, and it would be satisfying to see you learning it. 15 min each meeting could do!
Sounds terrific, thanks very much Nico!
Sorry for spamming the comment section but can't help myself. About Secret history - if you decide to read it, I'm 99% sure you're gonna hate it. Just a feeling I have. Not sure why. But it's a strong feeling.
Nah you're all good man. I suspect it may not be my thing. Might give it a shot though, we'll see...I appreciate the heads up though, thank you.
32:00 Not what I expected but respect for the coming-out! I can relate to it totally - in my twenties I was all about literature, wrote a bad novel even, and now at 38 I'm a full-time data scientist and a part-time investor, and I spend way more time reading 10-Ks than reading novels. Never would have guessed but here I am.
Thanks man yeah the Hyde to my Jekyll haha I hear you. Nice work with your accomplishments!
Dino by Nick Tosches is a fantastic book 👍
It is indeed, glad you think so too.
just signed up for a sub with meundies.com, man. Name dropped you. Here’s hoping for that sponsorship, brother. 😄
Ha! That's terrific - Thanks a bunch man, I really appreciate you mentioning me - Fingers crossed.
I was a librarian in Greenwich Village and had The Nick Tosches Reader on my “staff favorite’s” shelf next to Ulysses and one of Nick’s friends told him and so Nick e-mailed the library asking to meet the librarian that had his book on the shelf next to Ulysses and long story short he took me to play mini golf and see Kung Fu Panda. It was like a totally bizarre dream. We became good friends. He was as wild and chaotic as you’d imagine!
That is the most incredible story, fantastic - Thanks so much for sharing. And I believe it! He seemed like the real deal.
Hey you pronounced my name right. and yeah I would love to see more movie reviews I'm always looking for more non horror stuff tbh/
Awesome thanks for letting me know - Noted! Thanks for your input.
