Tessa’s doesn’t seem as interested in fat like saiya is. Either is aika so if saiya does gain weight, it probably will be by accident. Also tessa loves saiya as she is now. so saiya gaining weight doesn’t really serve well in the story as it is now but things can change.

Think I prefer this style to the one from the first page, I'm no expert on color theory but the colors here feel a lot more digestible and easy to take in, while still adding a lot of life to the page

I agree, I prefer the black and white as well. We can imagine and think of some details of the character on our minds that better suits each individuals tastes. There's a charm to it.
