then everyone had therapy and lived happily ever after the end

This feels like basically the crux of what I'd felt before a few dozen pages back; at the end of the day, Aika's own self-control issues played a role in things going sideways in her relationship with Saiya. I mean, whether you love her or hate her, Stacy's reaction does put a spotlight on the fact that Aika wasn't content to leave it at just friendship either - no matter how messy things got, she actively did not want the relationship to end. Saiya made her share of mistakes (god, did she XD), and Tessa has actively encouraged it - in what's now been implied to be a subconscious self-sabotaging of a "persona" forced on her - but Aika... well, whether she intended it or not, she helped enable things because she didn't want to walk back the relationship, letting the boundaries keep getting pushed until Saiya herself had to take the serious step of wondering whether the relationship was actually ever gonna work. All of which is to say; it's three girls with a lot of issues and no experience in how to deal with them before this - so I dunno how it becoming a messy tangle wasn't a foregone conclusion ^_^;
Ok so Aika obviously don't have a degradation kink. I am kind of concerned about her unfinished sentence. Aika is by far the least explained person in the story. She Is supposed to be airhead, but she seems quite grounded compared to lots of other people. Her childhood and how she entered the church are entirely mysteries. And the unfinished sentence... Maybe she wants to save Saiya because she sees her as a friend but *that's not a naughty thought…*. A wild guess of mine is that she's a Sandy-like character that has a whole other side and wants to punish the sins of Saiya…Aika seems way too nice, she doesn't belong in the story, I am almost certain something is not right about her. I hope we can find out soon whether I am wildly overthinking or actually on to something
I think a problem with the story is that it's been favored towards / dominated too much by Tessa in dialogue and screentime. Leaving less for Aika casually and intimately to gradually explore her character properly. So what happens now can feel sudden, forced and too uncharacteristic if taken too far. Guessing her as a Sandy-like character is a real mischaracterization though. Sandy was entirely cuckoo for cocoa puffs and murderous.
I swear to GOD if you Make a miscommunication trope again I might just suspend my subscription until 2027 dawg😭 LET THEM BE HAPPY
So Aika is into degration, well then
Page 645 Aika to Stacy; "I just want to forgive her (Saiya), but she might end up doing it (cheating) again. I think she needs real help." You really wouldn't think so after her saying that looking all sad like. 🤔
therapy for you, and therapy for you, therapy for everyone! (or donuts)
Everyone just needs to be big bellied and happy
"I can hide those naughty thoughts" is my favorite panel the expressions are so cute!
I have been wanting to say this for quite some time but just didn’t find the moment, but anyways. This dynamic between Aika and Saiya brought back memories to me. During high school, some people manipulated me, and I ended up doing things I never would have done before. I was far from a good person, and I knew I was doing wrong, but for some reason, I never had the courage to get out of there. That circle of "friends" was emotionally destroying me. Every day I hated myself and felt lost. I was simply a puppet to them. It wasn't until some friends—some real friends—helped me escape that nightmare that I started to live happily and was able to reconcile with some of those I hurt by being a complete idiot. I think it's somehow similar to the situation Saiya has been leading now (only without the cheating-on-my-girlfriend part, since I didn't have a girlfriend to begin with). Aika is that kind of *TRUE* friend. She knows Saiya is at her lowest point and doesn't want to abandon her because she thinks things can be fixed. She sees that Saiya hates herself, feels lost, and generally feels terrible, and she simply wants to help her and, in return, recover what was once a beautiful relationship that would have remained so if not for Saiya's lack of self-control regarding her fetish. Even if they don't become a couple again, I think Aika simply wants to be her best friend again and have fun like they used to when they were together. In the end, Aika witnessed Saiya's mental decline, a decline that began when Tessa took advantage of a vulnerable moment to manipulate her and spend more time with her (because it's clear she had no intention of benefiting her relationship with Aika), instead of accepting that Saiya wanted nothing to do with her. (Of course, Saiya is too far from being innocent and she isn't a saint; many of her mistakes stem from her own lust or moments of selfishness, but this mess isn't entirely her fault either.) I suppose I still have hope for Saiya because I see a part of myself reflected in her, a part I'm not proud of, but thankfully I was able to overcome and learn from. I'll probably always say that Saiya can do things right; she just needs help, since it's difficult to get out of this situation alone, especially considering her current state, but I know she can do it. I believe in her. Instead of the church (though I see it more as Aika's attempt to regain Saiya's trust), there should be dialogue, although I understand that Aika or Saiya might think it would be a bit awkward. But oh well, I hope they both have a happy ending and can go back to how they were when they arrived at the enhancement school. (This message has been like 2 days on my clipboard lol)
Wow thank you for sharing such a personal insight! I'm really happy to hear you can relate on that kind of level thank you !
I don't want Aika to be fixed, whatever's wrong with her is way hotter
... I get that this is supposed to be a reference to what she said to Tessa in a drunken stupor, at the party, about her being a bitch and all that. (page 145/146 for reference). But it doesn't really match how she reacted when Saiya told her by accident what she did with her in the closet, when she caught her kissing later on with Tessa and yelled at her and cried, nor all those other times when Saiya was ignoring her and looked saddened by it. In all those examples she looked very much distressed by it and never hinted at or indicated that she saw that in the way she's explaining here. So what's up with that? That and she seemed to like Saiya giving her attention outside of situations that were not related to masochism *at all*. Feeling her up under the table was a good example. So this doesn't make much sense to me.
Do you think people stay in abusive relationships because they enjoy having their needs trampled over? The moment to moment reaction compared to what you feel towards a person are vastly different things.
I wonder about the "Saiya doesn't REALLY like Tessa" comment. It's hard to be tell sometimes...
Interesting... so Aika is a Dominate masochist... Funny enough Stacy is really good at insulting people and being awful to them, but she can seem to do that to Aika anymore, because she likes her lmao
Panel three breaks my hearttttt 😭
Everyone became mega obese and happy, the end....
Masochism Maxxing
