As someone who was harassed by my own mom for overeating, I can understand that kind of repression. She wants to be fat but the memories of her childhood hold her back from indulging and so she projects those feelings onto Tessa and Aika. I think she does truly love both of them but the fact that she keeps going from one fatty to another is because she's not internally fulfilling her
Repressing some trauma can truly hold someone back from anything so that's a pretty sound conclusion that saiya wasn't truly happy with herself, we got a bit of doubt when she was walking back home and her belly was bloated from the soda
