My Patreon is Changing... and here's why...

ALL EXISTING TIERS ARE GOING AWAY by the end of the month, but do not fear, you will be grandfathered in at the rate you are paying, the current tier structure will just not be accesible and unpublished by the end of the month. From the first of September, all new patrons will either sign up to Aquaphile Tier or HD LIVESTREAM PATRON.

Since my YouTube got deleted a year ago, I have been struggling to afford a way to deliver the kind of live interactive aquaphile show, the way I want - without the censorship and community guidelines strikes implemented on me on virtually every platform. 

The only way for me to do this is to PAY UPFRONT for the LIVESTREAM PLATFORM offered by Vimeo, that I can directly pipe into patreon, and syndicate elsewhere. MY GOAL has been to afford this upfront cost for over a year, and I never got there. Instead, I keep churning off and losing patrons, who basically want more content.

I am instead concerned about QUALITY of my shoots, not the quantity. I can't be producing the current throwaway junk content I am producing now. It's unsustainable, timesucking, draining my mental health - because it's NOT MY ART, it's merely keeping platforms constantly refreshed with content.

Production costs money. My dream was to at least make my art break even, and a little bit more would be nice, but I have found that I am dedicating 80% of my available time to punting and hustling traffic, that DOESN'T cover the costs of everything, let alone pay my rent. I'm sinking, and I'm not even paying rent, and time is running out, I will have to move out of here soon, and I don't even have a deposit scraped together, or a serious income.

Patreon was never meant to be more than a hobby, but it's turned into a dire situation for me, sucking up valuable time just to pay overheads of running this show.

I don't want to burden my only play-outlet with whinge-talk and dire issues. So I decided I have to change. Again. It's my Birthday TOMORROW! So I've planned a weird shoot for it just to have a laugh and some fun, and go back to the drawing board on what I'm doing here.

Everything is Changing, I will be spending my Birthday Weekend making the updates happen, and I will be investing in the new Livestream server, because I am just sick, of not being able to livestream the way I want. So I'm just gonna buy it. You can secure your grandfathered the VIP tier for a year in advance. You have 10 days in which to do this, and then you are peace of mind guaranteed to not have to monthly subscribe for the new prices for a year. I'm doing this to enable the cashflow to BUY the Livestream SERVER. All tiers will have access to the Livestream in it's post-produced HD forma few days later.

Livestreams will be recorded, and syndicated elsewhere at lower qualities without the direct interation. Infact, my Youtube will no longer host anything in HD. From now on all YouTube videos will be 480p. HD will only be accesible here, or on a sanitized pay-per-view version hosted elsewhere. Details will follow at the end of the weekend.

I'm really tired. I've had a gruelling lead-up to my birthday weekend, not managing to get the time to myself to invest in my new business venture. And in the meantime babysitting social media platforms to try and rake in new subscribers. It's made me think about how I want to spend my time, and I just don't want to entertain social platforms anymore. They make money off me with clickbait advertising. I don't make money. I literally can't afford this. My hobby has turned into a monster. I want to chill out a bit and do real art.

You don't have to do anything, you can simply stay at the level tier you are at, and you will be automatically billed by Patreon. 

Wish me luck on my sketchy birthday livestream tomorrow. I'll post HD versions in here so you get to see what happened. But the whole event is geared towards my relaunch so it's not meant to be interactive, you aren't missing anything (although I do guarantee it will be funny). If you want to gift me for my birthday, then consider upgrading to one of the new tiers, or locking in for a year on the grandfathered VIP before it goes away at the end of the month.
