2025: What a Year.
This year has truly been a rollercoaster, especially in the modding community. It all started with a game-changing shift. In February, the release of Lighty Lights with AnL by Rakor1 completely transformed VPs. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, Photomode finally made its way into the game—a dream come true for us Virtual Photographers.
Around April, I decided I wanted to dive deeper into modding and learn how to create poses, specifically for sitting. I picked a random Saturday to start and found myself watching the Donut Blender tutorial, reading through Kit and Lumadaire’s guides, and then meeting my mentor, Pommelstrike. Despite having zero knowledge of Blender, Pommelstrike patiently guided me through it. These three incredibly talented modders—Rakor1, Kit, Lumadaire and Pommelstrike—formed the foundation of everything I’ve achieved, and I owe them a huge thank you.
When I released my first pose mod on Patreon, the support from the BG3 community on Instagram was overwhelming. The love and encouragement I received from all of you was beyond anything I could’ve imagined. From the moment I joined this community, you all have been nothing but kind and supportive. You’ve been my rock through some tough times, and I can't thank you enough for that.
After my first pose mod, I wanted to push myself further and learn animations. Again, Pommelstrike was there for me, teaching me the ropes despite my slow progress. Pommelstrike, I know you’re probably tired of hearing it, but I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me this year. Your patience and dedication have meant the world to me, and I’ll forever be grateful for that first message you sent—it really changed everything.
Then, mapping. I’ve always wanted to give it a go, but it kept slipping my mind until one summer when my dear friend and sis, Lenorebutsad, pushed me to learn. We had our first video call, and together, we dove into mapping. My first project? Gale’s Tower. It’s been a labor of love, and I wanted to make it as perfect as possible for all the Galemancers (and even if you aren’t a Galemancer but just love this place) out there who adore the tower as much as I do. The pressure was on, but I’m so grateful for the Moonglass Server and all the map modders who helped me along the way.
Over the course of this year, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of you in real life, and the instant bond we shared was incredible—like we had known each other for years. I also grew more comfortable with Discord and met new friends who continue to be a constant source of support.
2025 has been a year of growth both in terms of new skills and personal development. I’m still learning, still growing, and I know we all are. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned for sure, it’s this: never let anyone dim your light. Don’t let anyone limit or pressure you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s okay to take a break and recharge. Take things at your own pace, and don’t forget to celebrate every single achievement, no matter how small. Every step forward is a victory. And lastly, it’s okay to get emotional. Let yourself feel everything you need to feel. And when it is all over, just lift your head high and remember the lesson.
Lastly, a huge shoutout to Larian. You are the true MVP. Without your incredible game and characters, none of this would have been possible. Thank you for creating something that has brought so many people together. Where would we all be without you?
PS. To my IG community: I apologize if I have been pretty absent, inconsistent and wasn’t as active as before. But, I would like to let everyone know that I support you all and have been cheering behind the screens with all your beautiful stories and posts. It was just a very energy draining year for me.
