Once more about Gaston and a little about a Reputation System

First of all, thanks a lot for your participating in the discussion of Gaston's character! We are excited that most of you likes him as he is. We also noticed in your comments a couple of interesting ideas which may appear in further versions of LS.

In general, we're going to add variants of “good” and “bad” decisions in some events that will influence further events and, what's most importantly, the final of game. Now this mechanic is still underdeveloped. But we've already begun preparations for adding it into the game (for example, blackmailing of Belle in the storyline “Belle is asking for a discount on books” is obviously a “bad” choice and this is already clear).

Of course, Gaston's "bad" and "good" actions won't be the most obvious, and certainly won't correspond to those in the DND alignments grid. ^__^ So in order to get a “good” ending, Gaston won't have to heal the animals, open a charitable foundation and not look at Belle at all. Now we continue working on this system, in the basic version it's planned for LS 0.95.

At the same time it should be mentioned that we plan to develop the reputation system for Gaston and Tongas. Now these scales practically don't affect anything - this is obviously wrong. First, Gaston’s reputation will play an important role for the Hunters’ Guild (and the quests they give), as well as for some other quests. Tongas' reputation will influence the income bookselling and also a number of quests and events related to it. We have more extensive plans for the reputation system, but first we need to implement its basic functionality.
