Status update Episode 8
It was an intense week. The last percentages of work on any update always mean a lot of work.
And since it's the final update of the season, the workload has been even more significant than usual.
I have managed to narrow down the checklist further.
Art tasks that remain:
Render time for the final animation queue. Currently, 28 animations are waiting to render.
Other tasks that remain:
Polishing the dialogue and code
Playtesting
Thorough testing of transferring saves between Season 2 and Season 3 (Steam and Patreon).
Double-checking variables
Quality control of renders/animations
Fixing bugs that I find while testing
I have reached the point where I will playtest both the entire game and episode 8 a lot. If I feel that something is off, find bugs, etc. I will fix and add anything needed as I go.
As the game grows in size, so does this task. One single playthrough of episode 8 should take hours to enjoy.
Beta testing and proofreading will start after all animations have been rendered to completion and I have gotten the time I need to complete the rest of the tasks.
What I do know at the moment is that the planned content for the update currently is:
4065 static renders
359 animations
24 pieces of 2D art
36 new songs
31 new sound effects

已经把6玩完了，外面下的，打算给第二季补票，所以在steam买了，然后7,8一起玩。。。他更新实在太慢了，照这速度要完结估计还要两年。。。

I do love the music as well. Still i'm in love with pop punk theme song since i am a metalhead myself but the music fits every scenario so damn good. I am not a huge fan of accoustic but Quinn's song Time To Rise. God i love it so much.
I agree with you, that song is so good. I'm a big metalhead too, but my music taste has been described as "schizophrenic" by my wife. Almost all genres have something I like. Metal/rock is my preferred genre, but good music will always be good music.
im excited about the music being added, honestly with season 2 has knocked it outta the park with the music choices for different scenes. Im looking at you medicate me and beautiful syndrome
I would love to see more of Quinn
Love me some Quinn. Low key best girl.
Is Quinn a main character now with her showing up in that graphic that usually summarizes the end of chapter MC status? She seems like the biggest lynchpin in all the related stories and would be great to get more personal with her.
I don't know if I would classify Quinn as a main chick at this point but she is definitely playing a highly significant role in the plot of the story so far. There are a ton of ways her character alone could change all of the 5 main chic's storylines good or bad.
36 new songs!!! I love the music in this game so far looking forward to it.
Can't wait for the next episode, I've been replaying episode 7 a lot and still cant get over it.
So excited!!!! It's worth the wait.
I guess it's time to do a clean Jill run. I have a feeling playing the field will eventually catch up with some of us.

man those are some amazing numbers DPC is putting up. By the end of the game, a single update is gonna have more content than some entire games.
With all variables , this task really must be gigantic. Just curious what will happen with the DIK/CHIK scale, I guess at some point it will have to be restarted or somehow redone, because its getting quite short.
iirc he's already solved that, once you reach a certain point your affinity becomes permanent as CHIK or DIK.

Hej, have you ever considered employing beta testers? Project seams small enough for one person to manage art, music, code, and writing. And with that, you can ensure a single, focus vision of the game. That's said I feel testing can be safely outsourced.
He has 3 testers and a proof reader
