Status update Episode 8
This week I worked on several different tasks.
I've added art, code, and writing to Rooster/Chats and updated the design of the game menus (Save/Load/Preferences, etc.) to a more modern look that I intend to keep across season 1/2 and season 3 binaries.
I've written more of the missing scenes and posed static renders and a couple of SFW animations for them.
Here is the updated checklist of what's left to do:
Writing tasks that remain:
Two scenes of medium length
Code for one mini-game
Code for previously on Being a DIK screens
Code for episode end credits and screens
Adding Bios for all events (I always leave this task to last)
Art tasks that remain:
Possibly a few SFW (safe for work) animations
Render time for the final animation queue, currently 40 animations waiting to render
Static renders for four scenes
Render time for those static renders
GUI elements for one mini-game
Audio tasks that remain:
Implementing sound effects for a few scenes
Implementing music for a few scenes
(I intend to work on everything above next week and should complete a lot. I will also start playtesting next week.)
Other tasks that remain:
Polishing the dialogue and code
Playtesting
Thorough testing of transferring saves between Season 2 and Season 3 (Steam and Patreon).
Double-checking variables
Quality control of renders/animations
Fixing bugs that I find while testing
The episode is now bigger than episode 7 in almost every regard, and I feel that I'm getting close to having a complete episode that I can polish and test.

once episode 8 has finished will season 2 be released for steam? do you know a rough time stamp for the steam release
Long, long after the Patreon release, if ever. Dunno why DPC messes with Steam at all other than as a demo and advertising for his Patreon (and season 1 alone serves that purpose), Steam takes a 30% cut vs 8% here.
Just curious if the "music" option at the main menu will get updated to include season 2 songs when the final part is done, for quicker access than having to load/play through and fiddle with the phone?
The main menu music has CC0 license songs that need special treatment than the licensed music.
Good morning fellow brothers I have a few quick questions if anyone has the answers; if we downloaded the full game from Patreon when the new episode comes out we don’t have to download anything? If not will the game automatically update on its own? And lastly if we can’t remember if we downloaded the patch or not how would we know?
When you boot up the game (at the screen where you select new game, continue, gallery, etc.) you will see a version number on the bottom right corner. If that number is 0.7.0, 0.7.1, or 0.7.2, then you will be able to use the episode 8 patch version, otherwise you will have to download the full version. You can still download the full version, regardless. it would just be unneeded bandwidth on your end.
What program #DrPinkCake would you recommend for a beginner? Or if I may be so bold do you use? Please and thank you.

Thanks for the update Doc. So many plot strands seem to be about to collide. An episode that "will have you talking circles for months to come" is both exciting and yet scary after AL. I can't wait.
Discord would probably be the place for that.
Also, I stumbled across an idea, tell me what you guys think (the fans of DrP). I suppose I should ask if there is a specific place I should pose this for "spoilers' sake just in case i'm right, is there somewhere?

Oh Doc, you dawg ;) Your promise about season finale makes me both excited and worried at the same time. I have faith in you so I believe it will be mind blowing, but I also know that your story can take very dark turn (Acting Lesson), so yeah... hit us with your best shot ...but not a cum shot ;)

so excited for the next episode.. feels so much like awaiting a REAL tv series return from a nail biting finale each time there might be a new one on the horizon.. I know you have a set plan of episodes with a story to tell but i really do hope it goes on longer to keep that TV series feel alive as its something i havent seen others do and it works so well for your story.. I know you cant reply due to workload but id love to get a little hint as to how much longer into episode 8 we will have to try and finish the frat house.. over several plays ive tried and managed to get closer and closer to completion minus the window cash so was just curious how much time we will get to finish that going forward.. later play attempts can be done in one episode but the 1st play save files might take longer as hadnt figured it out fully.
I've got two save 'timelines' - in both of them I'm expecting to finish the frat repairs next episode, if not the next time the board is being checked.

This is, hands down, the best game I’ve played. It’s like being in your own personal movie. The difference that choices make are immense and the interaction of different activities just adds to the realism. So I am more than happy to wait as long as it takes.
