Status update Episode 8
It's time for the first real status update for episode 8, and the development is ongoing.
This week, it's mostly been planning and writing. I've been writing a lot, as I've been in the zone.
I know what I want to fit into this episode, so I'm writing as much of the layout as possible to grasp the workload that lies ahead.
Episode 8 will be the episode that wraps up the second season, so I'm very excited about it and will do my best to do it justice.
Game crashes (v0.7.2)
I've been getting some reports about random "out of memory" crashes that I wanted to address. I hope the following information can help more players solve these issues.
If you're experiencing any "out of memory" crashes after patching the game to the latest version (v0.7.2), I would recommend that you delete the contents of the "game/cache" folder.
There are three ".rpyb" files there that you can safely delete. When you restart the game, the cache will be rebuilt, and this could solve your problem.
In the future, I will supply pre-built cache files with the patches.
Poll news
This week, I posted the first poll for episode 8, a cosmetic poll for Sage. Sign up as a $10 patron to participate in it here.
I have planned several fun polls for episode 8, and I have also decided to change how the special render polls are conducted to get more balance in the special render sets.
At the moment, some girls have three render sets, whereas others only have one, and I'd like this to even out for the sake of the game.
I will reveal the details about how the new polls will look like as they are posted.
Walkthrough news
I've written the walkthrough, and proofreading is underway. I will release it as soon as possible, at the latest next Friday, but likely earlier.

Ah well, guess we'll all just have to wait and see...
I don't think Bella will be killed off but I'm definitely sensing some trouble of some kind coming. I get stressed out just thinking about it. I think I can survive as long as nothing too serious happens to Jill or Maya. I just feel so bad for Maya, she's so pitiful. She has the prettiest, saddest eyes and her story is something I'm kind of familiar with being from where I'm from. I live in what's called the "Bible Belt" here in the US so I've grown up with people that have experienced exactly what she's going through, maybe that's why I'm a bit more sensitive to it but I always make choices in her favor when going through the story again and I would in real life too. Jill is my pick but I feel the most for Maya, I think.
I have the feeling Bella is really fucked up, at one point the MC says if he had known something he would have never gotten involved with her. I'm mostly worried about Maya and Josie because of Maya's religious fanatic father. The best part of this game is the light hearted goofy stuff with Derik and pursuing all the girls IMO, don't need the sad stuff that was in Acting Lessons. I don't play games to get bummed out. The linier nature of Acting Lessons where there was no path to an actual happy ending sucked. I don't mind sad paths, but stupid illogical ones for the sake of adding drama or shock value are annoying. Like a grown man couldn't drag 2 95lb girls at the same time , that forced choice was stupid.
Looking forward to a complete season 2, Like to have it in my steam library as well
I played Acting Lessons, it was really good imo. I'd like to think I got a good ending for my decisions. BaDIK is so fun to play too! Jill's character is written pretty well. Sure do love Isabella, just had be persistent...but why do I get the feeling she's gonna get killed off?
unless I am misunderstanding the criteria for a main girl, I don't see Bella getting killed off
I love how we're starting to get consequences of chasing every girl in sight. Usually in games you just get whatever you can and build your harem, it's very cool to start seeing payoffs for what you would (probably) do in real life and go for one girl. Really amazing writing.
You should check out Acting Lessons if you haven't while on downtime till the next episode... I'm still curious if Jonas and Liam will be making an appearance at some point
I'm in awe from this game. It captivates me, and keeps me wondering and imagining. Keep up the good work. Rarely have I been this captivated by a game, ANY game! Awesome!

Jesus man, the amount of work you do on this stuff is Ludicrous, I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see a h-game writer that doesn't just drop a project.
Plus the fact that he does so well at it. After replaying Acting Lessons, compared to Ep 7 of BaD the difference is astounding. Acting Lessons was good, but the difference in quality of the animated scenes is impressive. I don't know if its upgraded equipment since AL, or him just learning how to do things better but its quite a difference. Maybe it's both?
question: do you have voices in the game ??? because in mine there is no sound of voices, or it is not working ....
no voices except for the Jill intro at the first startup of BaDIK

I can already think of one theme...Quinn, S&M Dungeon her being a Dominatrix lol.
Why don't you poll for a theme instead of specific girls, like how you had Riona's cyberpunk theme. That way it balances out the coverage whilst still getting fan contribution :D

Thank DPC, your work is awesome :) I have just one small (maybe stupid) question in regards of special renders. Is there any hotkey to go from one to another? Or do I always have to close one to open next one?

I'm so glad DrPC is organized and productive. If their games were this good but they struggled to get out two tiny episodes a year like so many creators, it would be soul-witheringly frustrating. :)
