Status update Episode 4
This week I've mostly been posing static renders, about ~300 of them. I posed a couple of tricky scenes that I'm really happy with and I also created a few new environments needed for the episode and the future.
I posed animations too; 3 lewd scenes still need more animations.
87 animations are rendered and I have 10 animations in the queue.
38 scenes, as in story events, have been fully posed and written (but not fully rendered).
I need to pose approximately ~10 more scenes, some are short but a couple are pretty big.
The binary size is currently 5.12 GB, but note that I have compressed the movies from previous Episodes by 11% using a new technique.
The quality of the webm's was increased in the process, which I'm super happy about.
This week, I also spent 1.5 days adding content to the Rooster App as well as remaking it to match the Chat/Swyper app concept.
The content in the Rooster app is now added programmatically as well, which allows me to add more content to the comment section and develop this content faster.
You can now like the posts and comments of other characters and the Rooster feed is saved for future Episodes, so you can go back and read previous posts.
However, you can only comment on the posts that are posted in the Episode you are playing, due to story reasons.

I really love this app and I laugh a lot while writing the comments.

I also posed and re-rendered all avatars in the game, used in Bios and other apps. 14 Characters (old and new) have been added to the Bios app.
I also added some new neat functionality to the phone that you will have to discover for yourself.
The social media apps are now virtually finished for Episode 4.
Next week, I will be writing as much as possible, my goal is to finish writing the remaining dialogue and scenes. I will continue to pose static renders and animations as well.

Do you know if previous saves will be compatible or not? Just wondering due to all these wonderful add-ons & changes. I plan to replay again anyway, just want to know if i should wait to replay after EP4 is released or if i can replay now. 🙂
Go ahead and replay, your saves will be compatible as long as you save at the prompt in the end of Episode 3. What you will miss out on is the following: - History of Rooster posts - History of the Chat app But there will be no consequence in terms of choices/gameplay. I'm very careful to design the game that way.
it's nice to see progress, and in the risk of being a devil's advocate, i know your updates are getting bigger, but with the largely "publicized" change of you going into BADIK full-time, people will expect "smaller" updates to come out MUCH faster than before, and "larger" updates to come out "the same or faster" than previous "status-quo" content - - no negativity intended, but Patreon, by design, is a "impatience trap"
That has been true for most stuff but since dev is providing meaningful & big updates every week i think he is an exception to this. Most other devs get crap for it since they don't give proper updates in 1-3 weeks & about 85% of them always seem to have some problem (RL drama of some kind). Most people will understand that RL stuff can delay an update or during holiday season people want to spend their time with family but when this happens constantly & then there are no updates for a long time. That is the main reason why so many games get dropped. Dev's just need to be honest. If they need to release an update every 2-3 months or whatever just say it from the beginning so people don't latch on to the every month promise/expectation. Well sorry for my rambling, but that's my opinion.

I'm excited for all the work you've put into the social media apps, always was one of my favourite bits of the game. That little bit of extra character interaction goes a long way towards making the world feel lived in
