Patch v0.12.1 and Post-release information
The release week has gone smoothly, and v0.12.0 has proven to be stable.
This release was even smoother than the v0.11.0 release, and I haven't felt as stressed during release week as I normally do. I think that's mostly because there weren't too many bad bugs in the build, and it seems like most of you managed to unzip and patch the game successfully without needing further assistance.
It's been a pleasure to read your reactions over the week, and I've had a lot of fun together with the Patreon community on Discord. I'm sure you all have a bunch of new questions after playing the episode, and I'll host another Q&A soon where you can ask them.
Patch v0.12.1 is live.
The patch for v0.12.1 is now live. Get it here.
It includes bug fixes for everything reported to me since the release, as well as typo fixes.
Upgrade to v0.12.1 if you want any of the following fixes:
Fixed an issue with the episode 12 recap.
Fixed an issue with Maya's dress during a free roam event.
Improved the Save Transfer interface so that descriptions can be updated and stored when changing old descriptions.
Fixed some persistent file issues that would cause the game to crash if the persistent file was wiped mid-episode.
Fixed a couple of issues with the Party Planner evaluations.
Fixed an issue with a missing render during an animation in episode 11.
Fixed an issue with the music volume being set to a wrong value during two scenes.
Fixed an issue with some pan animations causing a black screen when rolling back.
Fixed an issue with buying Sage a Christmas gift in episode 11.
Fixed an issue with Jill's gift appearing in free roam events when it shouldn't.
Fixed an issue with unlisted music not appearing in the music player unless the persistent file was wiped.
Fixed an issue with the Science mini-game where the timer in Step 9 of Experiment 3 was 5 seconds faster than intended.
Corrected typos.
Thank you for your bug and typo reports! Keep submitting them to me if you find something that hasn't been patched.
There will be a v0.12.2 at a later point, including even more typo corrections and fixes for any other reported bugs.
What I'm up to right now
At the moment, when I'm not fixing reported bugs and typos or helping patrons with issues, I'm mostly focusing on the Steam/GOG builds and related work.
On Friday, the $5 tier gets access to the v0.12.1 patch, and after that I'll post the updated episode 12 guide on Patreon for the Major DIK tier and above (Yes, it's coming this month).
Regarding the next Status update, it will be sometime after the Steam/GOG release. Episode 13 development won't commence at full speed until after the Steam/GOG releases and when those builds feel stable.
But rest assured that I'm always squeezing in animation work to have my PCs render animations during this time, and that Episode 13 development has already begun.

I got the full version of the new release, but I am coming from the Steam versions of 1 & 2. Is there a way to convert one of those saves so I can actually play?
Click Import in Season 3, then at the top there's a button to switch to Import from Steam. But you need to have saved at the end of Episode 8 in the save transfer interface.
Sure is going to bee fun to see the girls in 4K, of course I had to get a 4K monitor today, of course not just for Being a DIK, but lots of other games to. I was lucky and got one on sale. Game works fine, so cant wait for the Steam version, and the guilde :-)
Love the game! But gonna beg and plead for something and hope the fan base is in agreement. Can we have a mini game similar to mansion clean up /party planning but it's specifically for dating? We have a certain budget, have to think of something to organise like location, activities etc but each one is specific to your LI or "Others". And if you're seeing multiple people it'll affect the relationship dynamics as you begin to favour someone. I just really want more opportunities to spend talking with my LI rather than some dialogue that's just not important to my playthrough.

I’m sure this has been asked before, so I apologize if I missed it. I downloaded the entire game - Ch 1-8 - and Season 3 directly from Patreon this week. I had no trouble with Ch 1-8. However, last night, when I tried playing S3, I started with Chapter 9 which is the Halloween event. I’m at the conversation Tommy is having with Jacob. Towards the end of the conversation, the game totally shuts off. I don’t use mods or anything like that, so I deleted the game and downloaded S3 again. Same thing. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m just trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. Great game! And thank you in advance to anyone who can help me with this.
Your saves had mods at some point and they are tainted by that. The only fix is to delete your game, persistent and save files from "game/saves" and "%appdata%/RenPy/BeingaDIKSeason3-Patreon-1535311494" Re-download the original game files from Patreon. Don't modify your game to avoid problems in the future. Reinstalling the official versions of the game without mods do not remove the taint. All sages and the persistent files have to be removed too. Using someone else's saves can spread the taint. If your S3 was never modded, then you are bringing in the taint through the transfer files (they are tainted) which are generated from a tainted S1/S2 saves and persistent. The location for AppData for S1/S2 is similar (go to the Renpy folder above and look for BeinADIK-xxxx94 folder and wipes its contents too).

Im looking for some help, my game keeps crashing after the recap. Tommy and Leon start talking and like 4 skips in it crashes, any advice?

love episode 12 so far... but it isnt FAIR ... i have to backtrack so much to hopefully get the outcome i want. i will finish it first to see if it will happen . because going back to simply chapter 8 didnt make a single dent in the outcome of that situation. whats crazy is i made an absolute chick/nun run and saw absolutely nothing different up to like chapter 8-10'ish so i started double dipping

I went on vacation right after release legit coincidently convincing my wife that now is the time would be a grave mistake to make. but I got plenty of time for playthroughs. 92% explored all paths taken, ish i have a sage run I don't wanna finish. but there will be time and I am an addict for content. anywho if you heard bitching, it's from people that don't like dramatic consequences for their choices, they want to have their cake and eat it too. well, that's what replays are for. love your enthusiasm in every frinken avn i enjoy lol

Using the "Get it here." link I get sent to the full download page - any chance you have a patch-only download? Or did I miss something? Edit: I mean a 12.1 patch only, not the Episode 12 patch (which is still 7 GB). I am wondering if there's something that's only a couple MB.
It was easier to have it updated with the entire patch like that rather than to make two versions (one for 0.12.0 and one for 0.11.X). Past experience with that is that many get confused when there are single .rpa files as opposed to the zips.
That disclaimer on non-use of slop at startup made me appreciate you even more. Keep up the good work. On a related note: a certain social media comment that MC can make cracked me up :)
Haven't finished the episode once yet, since I had to replay the entire game, lol. But I did get to a good way through it yesterday and I absolutely love it so far! 👍
