Status update Episode 12
I've been writing dialogue for the big free roam event every single day this week. I thought I would be able to complete the dialogue and start working on art, but there's been too much to write about. And the free roam event grew as I wrote, and I included more scenes. Who would have thought that would happen?
It's tough to give you a picture of how much writing there is for this free roam event. Comparing the calls to images in the code with that of the Christmas party in episode 11, I estimate the writing would need ~2900 renders at the moment, making it roughly 30% bigger. But I'm not done with it yet. I'm getting close, though. As you can see, this event will be a major part of the episode.
I have written 76 events out of 82 planned - event count isn't set in stone -, meaning I'm 90-95% done with the dialogue for the free roam event.
I haven't written any code for the free roam event navigation yet, but that's fun and fast to code. I'll knock that out in 1-2 days of work alongside making the art for the environment renders.
This morning, I only had 10 animations in the render queue. So, today I pushed the stop button on writing dialogue mid-flow and started posing animations. I will pose animations to increase the queue a bit, then I will write the rest of the events and go back and forth to create the art. With the environments, characters, and dialogue done, posing the free roam event will be straightforward.
Poll news
During my years on Patreon, I've had many polls, but none as close as the one that ended today. In fact, it had a different outcome yesterday, and this morning, only 14 votes separated two of the options (a patron in the $30 tier has 11 votes, with the voting power that comes with the tiers accounted for).
When the poll ended, the difference between options 1 and 3 was less than 1%, with option 3 in a marginal favor. For the first time ever, I have decided to include two winning poll options in episode 12. Hopefully, that pleases the vast majority of you. You'll discover how it's implemented when you play.
Thanks for voting!
Have a nice weekend

if you're including both, I doubt you would do this because of the extra work on top of everything but it makes me think you'll have her ask the player which she should wear.
it'll probably be like jill's halloween costume; either sexy and slutty if youre not dating her, or the goofy/chunky costume if you are dating
Great to hear from you as always Doc. Both options are excellent on the dress, bonus to get both! Have a good weekend!
That sure is a big free roam just to find Derick's finger :D
Plot twist, the finger was in that locked room this whole time.
Great solution to a very close poll! Have a good weekend Doc, and thanks for the update!
When is episode 12 coming out?
When it is finished. There will never be a predefined release date. There are for sure some months left based on the weekly updates.
Nice one DPC. Enjoy your weekend
Gorgeous...thx Doc, have a nice weekend ! 🫡🥰👍 BUT...Doc - where is our QUINN POLL ?!? 😁
I love a close race poll like this and I’m excited to see how it’s implemented. Thanks Dr.PC for being so accommodating to all of us. I know it’s extra work but it’s greatly appreciated!
DPC proves he is the GOAT once again. How blessed we are to have two sexy outfits for Maya.
MAYA GETS BOTH DRESSES!! LFG!!! :D
Thanks for the update. That is one really close poll. The big free roam sounds like it will be a treat.
Thanks for the update.👍😊 I voted for option 1, but I like option 3 too. I like that you have decided to include both options in episode 12.❤️
Thanks for the update
Could this free roam be by any chance about a possible New Year’s Eve party? That would be dope man
😁🤘👍
She looks great
Oh, it is Friday already :-D What a great update, Pink. I loved the big free roam during Halloween, so I am looking forward to this one. Sounds dope! And after reading your decision after the poll result, my first thought was that we rip of her dress during the party and she has to run and get another one.... LOL... one second later I realized that would only work in one branch. Have a good weekend everybody!
honestly i like both, awesome news i have to say. thanks for the update.
Speaking for my "Others" playthroughs, I hope to see a lot more of Sally and Cinderella ... and the return of Riona.
