DevLog — Trailer Interaction, Driving Hours & More
The next Rest Anywhere update is coming together really well, and it’s shaping up to be quite a big one.
One of the main things I’ve been working on is making the trailer interaction much more hands-on. Coupling and uncoupling will no longer feel like a single button press — you’ll actually have to go through the individual steps yourself.
That means lowering or raising the trailer legs, connecting and disconnecting the electrical and air lines separately, unlocking the fifth wheel, and even placing wheel chocks when needed.
These interactions aren’t just visual either. Disconnecting the electrical line, for example, actually cuts power to the trailer, so the lights go out as well.
I’ve also been adding more to Walk Anywhere itself. New elements like the wheel chocks, cigarette and smoke effects are all fully 3D and rendered as part of the game world, so they react naturally to the game’s lighting rather than feeling like simple overlays.
But this update isn’t only about walking around the truck.
I’m also making changes to the way drivers’ hours and working time are handled, with several improvements to the logic behind that system. Quite a few bugs related to this part of the plugin have also been found and fixed, largely thanks to the detailed reports and logs you’ve been sending me.
And honestly, that feedback has been incredibly useful. Some of these issues would have been very difficult to catch without people actively testing the plugin in different setups and playstyles.
There’s still some polishing and testing left, but the goal remains the same — more interaction, more immersion, and more realism without turning the game into a chore.
Hopefully, 2.1.0 will feel like another solid step in that direction.

Czy działa na ats? I czy to jednorazowa płatność czy subskrypcja
Działa na ATS. Nie rozumiem drugiej części pytania.
Love what you’re doing with this. What you thinking of adding to the drivers hours side?
First of all, I want to make the way the plugin handles driving time and breaks feel a bit more natural. If you’re parked up somewhere and not doing anything, that time will count toward your break even if you haven’t manually started one. The same goes for spending time walking around in Walk Anywhere. Loading and unloading will count as break time as well.
You are rocking Gelex 🔥🔥 keep going
Amazing. Can you share what graphics mod you are using? Thank you.
PNG, Snowymoon and DLSS5
where can i find the dirty tires on your trailer plus i sent the gamelog but havnt heard from you
I've responded to that log many days ago mate.
This is lovely 🔥 But instead of having a black screen when exiting or entering the cab y not make the screen shake when the dirt closes or opens? Just a suggestion 🤷♂️
The fade is there to hide the camera switch. As for adding screen shake, I honestly don’t really see what it would add to the experience.
Mam pytanie czy wersja 2.1 będzie również dla 1.60?
Nie sądzę. Nie mam w planach dodawania kompatybilności wstecznej
Piękna robota!
Love the work on this! Would it be possible to have an option to have the Rest Anywhere widget display more information at all times like it did previously? It’s definitely more sleek with messages being hidden until they’re relevant, but I actually liked seeing all of the details. I’d even like it if the widget had an option to include a couple of additional job details like what I’m hauling and how much the job pays so I could fully hide the default Job Details widget. I’m probably in the minority here but doesn’t hurt to ask
I think so, absolutely. Those are actually some really good points.
