Coming Next: Manual Trailer Interaction & More

The next Rest Anywhere update is already taking shape, and it’s going to bring quite a few new features and changes.

One of the biggest additions will be more manual interaction around the trailer.

Instead of simply coupling or uncoupling everything with a single action, you’ll be able to perform separate steps yourself — including connecting and disconnecting the trailer cables, as well as raising and lowering the trailer landing gear.

And that’s still not everything.

The refueling system is also being reworked, along with the way coffee is purchased. From now on, buying coffee will have an actual in-game cost, rather than simply being a free interaction.

I’m also working on improved getting-in and getting-out animations, making the transition between walking mode and the cab feel much more natural.

Of course, the update will also include another round of bug fixes and compatibility improvements. A huge part of that is only possible thanks to the reports I keep receiving from active players.

So once again — thank you. Your logs, feedback and detailed reports genuinely help me track down things I simply wouldn’t be able to reproduce on my own, and that’s what allows Rest Anywhere to keep getting better.

There’s also an important change coming to the way the plugin is rendered.

Both the HUD and the plugin animations will now be visible in screenshots and video recordings, which should make things much easier for anyone creating content or simply wanting to capture what’s happening in-game.

There’s still more being worked on, but the direction is clear — more interaction, more immersion, and more reasons to actually get out of the cab.

Hi Gelex! 🇵🇱 I've tested TM Real Walk, but honestly, I'm waiting for your release instead. I really want to support Polish creators who put so much passion, time, and effort into making ETS2 more realistic. Your work is impressive, and I truly appreciate what you're doing for the simulation community. I'm really looking forward to your next update and the release of Walk Anywhere. I can't wait to experience your work in the game! Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for bringing even more realism to ETS2! 💪🚛

Hello, I would like to know if this plugin is compatible with TM Real Walk, and if so, whether it's possible to use only the Rest Anywhere function? Thank you.

Both plugins should work together. You can also disable walk mode in my plugin. But i'm not sure if that will be possible after next update.

Hi, Gelex. Is there any way to prevent OBS from ignoring your plugin when I try to use it and make it appear in the live stream?

The information is in the second-to-last paragraph of the post. The change is already done and is just waiting to be included in the next update.

Can u make it so that when we check the load we actually need to get out from the truck and check all of the crickets?

For now, I’m planning to move cargo checks completely outside the cab and into the trailer area, where the trailer will have its own dedicated menu. At the moment, I’m still looking into which parts of the trailer the plugin can actually detect, so I can expand this feature and make the whole inspection process more detailed.
