Rest Anywhere — Dev Update #01

The release of Rest Anywhere is behind us, and I’m already collecting the first round of feedback from people using the plugin.

So first, a few issues that are either being worked on right now or have already been fixed and are waiting for the next build.

Fixes and improvements

1. Multi-monitor support
From the reports I’ve received, some animations were being split across two monitors, which obviously didn’t look great.

This one is already fixed. The plugin now correctly detects the screen position when using multiple monitors and displays the animations where they should be.

2. Remembering the widget position
I have to admit this one was entirely my fault. The feature actually worked before, but I managed to break it while adding more code.

It’s fixed now and will be included in the next release.

3. Smoother rest animations
I’m still investigating what causes occasional stuttering during the rest animation.

At the moment, I suspect one of the cargo-securing checks may be responsible, as part of that system gets refreshed every time the vehicle stops. I’m working on narrowing it down.

New features

There are also a couple of new things already being developed.

1. Custom CMR stamps
In the next version, players will be able to add their own stamp designs to CMR documents.

The idea is simple: you’ll provide your own PNG template, and the plugin will use it to place your custom company stamp directly onto the document.

2. CMR at delivery
CMR paperwork shouldn’t only be part of collecting the cargo — it should also matter when delivering it.

During unloading, players will be able to hand the CMR over to the receiver, who can then add remarks related to things such as:

• late delivery
• cargo securing
• damage to the goods

I think this should make the whole delivery process feel much more complete.

Further development

The roadside inspection system is still being worked on as well.

I’m also thinking about reworking the cargo-securing animation so it requires more actual involvement from the player.

After all, securing cargo isn’t something the driver simply stands there and watches — it’s something they actually have to do.

So I’d like that part of the plugin to reflect that a little better.
