Seattle Live Show! This Might Be A Tangent, August 21st!
Hi everyone!!
Some of you might remember that last summer I did my first-ever live shows in Toronto and Vancouver, and that they were some of the most fun I have ever had doing this job. I got to meet so many of you in person and talk about fun things and also tell some very Canadian jokes (I think I will have to cut the Heartland joke from any US locations lol) and a room full of strangers collaboratively built something So beautiful. Both cities created YURI. I came home from those shows completely wrung out and grinning like an idiot.
So I'm thrilled to finally announce: This Might Be A Tangent is coming to Seattle in Fremont Abbey, August 21st. First-ever US show!!
When I say finally I mean FINALLLLLYYYYY; the thing standing between me and performing in the United States was getting an O-1 visa. AKA you have to assemble a small mountain of paperwork arguing that you are legally Talented™. It was a huge headache, it took months, and multiple people I admire wrote letters vouching that my job is real. (It is! Mostly!) But it's done, it worked, and the upshot is I now get to bring this show to people who couldn't make it to Canada, which was always the dream!!!
The show is in two halves. The first half is me going all the way down a rabbit hole that's been eating my brain alive and the second half involves us building something beautiful together. This is the only show of this set at the moment, so if you're in Seattle, the PNW, or willing to make questionable travel decisions: I would absolutely love to see you there. Come down the rabbit hole with me or just come say hi!!! Meeting the people who make this work possible is, no exaggeration, THEEE best part of my job.

How likely do you think you'll be to have door tickets on the day?
I'm really not sure unfortunately!!! I'll probably have a better sense closer to the day-of, but since I've never done a US show before I don't have a great sense of what sales will look like yet.
british might be a tangent when 🇬🇧😄 nice that a country of 350 million people has FINALLY had to admit to the inevitable as regards legally Talented™ tho ✊
I cannot believe I missed your Vancouver show. I won’t miss the next one please do a next one 🙏

Will this be largely the same as the Vancouver show?
Yes, it's the same show! So if you saw me in Vancouver it'd probably be best to wait for a different topic to come again, unless you just really liked it and want to see the same thing twice :P
