🦜 PARROT’S ARK: SURVIVORS ON THE HIGH GROUND

The water kept rising.

Behind the Ark, the last rooftops of the old arcade world had disappeared beneath the waves. Entire cities were now somewhere below us, silent under thousands of feet of water.

For days, there had been nothing on the horizon.

No lights.

No radio transmissions.

No signs that anyone else had made it.

Then, just before sunrise, something appeared through the clouds.

Mountains.

Their lower slopes had already vanished beneath the flood, but several peaks still stood above the water.

And there were lights on them.

Someone had survived.

The Ark changed course.

🏔️ THE MOUNTAIN REFUGE

As we approached the highest peak, figures began appearing along the ridge.

They had been trapped there since the flood began, surrounded on every side by an endless ocean.

Among them was an arcade platform we had never managed to bring aboard before:

Taito PPC JC System Type-C

And it wasn't alone.

Two survivors had remained with it:

  • Operation Tiger

  • Operation Tiger: Second Mission

There were no others.

These are the only known games released for the Taito PPC JC System Type-C platform.

The rescue boats were lowered.

For the first time, the complete known Taito PPC JC System Type-C lineup is now safely aboard Parrot's Ark.

But the mountain wasn't empty yet.

🐍 MOVEMENT ON THE EASTERN RIDGE

While the first rescue was underway, one of the scouts spotted movement several kilometers away.

Another group had survived on a narrow ridge almost completely surrounded by water.

The markings were familiar.

Konami Viper.

Viper had already secured passage aboard the Ark during an earlier stage of the voyage, but not everyone had made it.

Three more survivors had finally been located:

  • Silent Scope EX

  • Silent Scope Fortune Hunter

  • GTI Club 2 / Driving Party / GTI Club Corso Italiano

They were brought down from the ridge and reunited with the rest of the Konami Viper group aboard the Ark.

Another piece of arcade history had escaped the flood.

🎯 THE SILENT SCOPE CREW ADAPTS

Life aboard the Ark requires adaptation.

There isn't always enough room to recreate the enormous cabinets of the old world, so the Silent Scope 1 & 2 crew have developed a new Single Screen Mode through the Screen Layout settings.

The scope can now be toggled or held using P1 Button 2, follows the target in single-screen mode, and includes new scope scaling options.

Calibration saving on exit has also been improved.

Silent Scope: Bone Eater has received matching UI support for the new single-screen functionality and settings.

Even after the rescue, work continues.

🌊 BELOW DECK: THE ENGINEERS NEVER STOP

While the rescue teams searched the mountains, the Ark's engineers continued working deep inside the ship.

Some of the oldest machinery aboard has now received significant upgrades.

🏁 RACING DECK

Several racing machines have been repaired and improved during the voyage:

  • Daytona USA – Added an enhanced draw-distance option. TeknoModel2 also gained missing revision IDs, including daytonase.

  • GTI Club – Added the missing Automatic / Manual transmission switch.

  • Indy 500 – Added an option to select other game versions.

  • Nicktoons Nitro – Added FFBBlaster's Enable Original Controls option to improve compatibility with certain wheels and setups.

  • Sega Racing Classic – Added a startup repair that restores the original M2.fxo shader if it was previously modified.

  • San Francisco games – Fixed steering and reverse functionality, with missing reverse bindings added to the UI.

  • Thrill Drive 1 – Fixed steering range and inputs for Hornet and network variants. Cabinet and shifter overrides have also been added to allow shifter selection.

🔭 A WIDER VIEW OF THE NEW WORLD

With nothing but ocean surrounding the Ark, visibility matters more than ever.

The TeknoModel2 observation deck has been expanded with new widescreen support for:

  • Daytona USA

  • Sega Rally

  • Virtua Cop

  • Virtua Cop 2

  • The House of the Dead

  • Super 24

  • Sega Touring Car Championship

  • Sonic Championship

  • Over Rev

  • Virtua Fighter 2

  • Dead or Alive

The old world may be underwater, but at least we can see more of the horizon.

⚙️ ENGINE ROOM UPGRADES

TeknoGClub

The TeknoGClub machinery is running faster after another round of engineering work.

CPU performance has been improved through broader JIT coverage, direct RAM reads for sound, and additional optimizations.

Tilemap composition has also been moved to the GPU.

TeknoHornet

One of the Ark's largest engine-room upgrades this time belongs to TeknoHornet.

Changes include:

  • Migration to Clang

  • Reduced JIT fallbacks

  • Improved synchronization

  • Improved frame limiting

  • Improved Vulkan presentation

  • Triple-framebuffer FIFO presentation

  • New Disable VSync option

  • Missing launch flags added to the UI

The Hornet engines are running smoother than ever.

TeknoS21

A timing problem inside TeknoS21 had been causing music to run too slowly.

The engineers traced the problem and fixed it by tying music and audio timing to the sound CPU instead of VSync.

Another strange noise from below deck has finally gone quiet.

🔧 REPAIRS ACROSS THE ARK

The maintenance crews have also completed a long list of repairs:

  • Strider 2 – Added the missing Boost button binding.

  • Star Wars Arcade & Wing War – Fixed the X axis through the UI and added an Invert Y option. TeknoModel1 now also hides the cursor.

  • Aliens Armageddon – Fixed high-score data handling, wide-string handling and path issues. Corrected held-versus-pressed inputs so ammunition is handled properly, fixed test-mode input states so the input test can be exited, removed obsolete coin/input workarounds, and adopted memory-pool sizes from a newer game version to address allocation errors.

  • WMMT6RR – Added a Network Adapter Override option.

📡 SIGNALS ACROSS THE SHIP

Communication between the Ark's systems has also been expanded.

A new Network Outputs option has been added across:

  • TeknoCobra

  • TeknoGClub

  • TeknoHNG64

  • TeknoHornet

  • TeknoModel1

  • TeknoModel2

  • TeknoVegas

  • TeknoViper

  • TeknoZeus

  • TeknoVUnit

Corresponding TeknoParrotUI support has been added as well.

More sections of the Ark can now communicate with the outside world.

🎮 CONTROL SYSTEMS

Force-feedback systems have also received more attention.

This includes VR/VF force-feedback adjustments in TeknoModel1, alongside additional changes for:

  • TeknoVUnit

  • TeknoHornet

  • TeknoViper

⚡ THE BRIDGE

The Ark's main control system, TeknoParrotUI, has received another round of improvements:

  • Faster startup and general operation

  • Reduced unnecessary profile reloads

  • Fixed binding errors

  • Improved XInput axis handling

  • General cleanup and optimization

  • Saving FFB settings now automatically exits the settings page

The bridge is getting faster as the Ark grows.

And it needs to.

Because the ship is carrying more survivors than ever.

🌅 THE VOYAGE CONTINUES

By nightfall, the mountain was empty.

Everyone we could find had been brought aboard.

The rescue teams returned.

The ramps closed.

And Parrot's Ark continued forward.

Behind us, only the very top of the mountain remained visible above the rising water.

For a moment, the ocean was silent again.

Then the radio operator heard something.

A weak transmission.

Too distorted to understand.

It wasn't coming from the mountains.

It was coming from somewhere far beyond the horizon.

The coordinates have been marked.

Parrot's Ark is changing course.
