Current State of Development

I am very excited to let you know that now pretty much every core gameplay system is done now and working as intended, so now we'll be working on creating the first quests for the demo version of the game and adding more objects, clothes and NPCs. I don't want to promise anything but I'm hoping to start play testing and to release the demo in the first half of 2027.

I'm really happy with how the game is coming together. These past months were a rollercoaster. Lots of staying up late, working on the game while working my main job (don't tell my boss), working on a feature for hours and having to scrap it and start over and thinking I'm not good enough to finish this project. But my stubbornness won in the end and I kept trying until I found a solution.

I'm also very lucky to have the support of my amazing husband who always believes in me more than I do and reminds me that I still need to rest. I would not be able to make this game without him and he's now also helping me by writing the script.

I didn't expect this project to become so big, I've met many amazing people who I'm now collaborating with for the game and planning future projects. What started as just a vampire game I decided to create for myself has become a huge love letter to the Ukrainian culture that I want to share with the world.

I have applied for the Steamworks distribution programme and I'm currently waiting for them to review my application (they are taking their sweet time doing it lol). Once it's done, Stara Krov will have it's official Steam page and we will try reaching out to different gaming news channels/blogs/platform that will hopefully be interested in talking about the game.
