Big updates: Hair Control v1.2, Auto Makeup v1.4/v1.5, Auto Nails v1.7/v1.8
A lot of updates went out this week across three mods. Here's everything that's new:
Auto Makeup v1.4 and v1.5
v1.4 added three new pie menu interactions: Change Natural Eyelashes, Change Natural Eyeliner, and Change Natural Blush. Each one cycles the targeted slot to a different curated style/color combination, giving you finer control without going full randomize.
Also fixed: the mod was running on animals in addition to Sims, which could corrupt animal appearances. Animals are now correctly skipped. A config file parsing bug that could cause settings to be ignored is also fixed.
v1.5 adds Change Classic Lipstick, a new pie menu interaction that applies a lipstick from a curated pool ranging from soft to bold classic styles. Available on both male and female Sims. If upgrading, run am_scan after installing to rebuild the makeup catalog for the new interactions to work.
Auto Nails v1.7 and v1.8
v1.7 adds Apply French Manicure: a classic short white French tip applied to the current outfit's fingernails with the swatch selected to complement the Sim's skintone. Not shown for fantasy skintones. If upgrading, run an_scan to rebuild the nail catalog for this feature to function.
This version also finally fixed natural nail application on age up. The previous implementation had a timing issue that prevented the nails from sticking after the age transition. The fix now runs after the game finishes processing the transition.
v1.8 fixes an animal corruption issue identical to the one in Auto Makeup. Nails were being applied to animals, notably dogs. All animals are now explicitly excluded. A new an_strip_sim cheat command lets you remove nails from an animal by name if you were affected before the fix.
Hair Control v1.2
v1.2's biggest addition is length-aware style changes. Four new pie menu options let you change a Sim's hairstyle within a specific length category while keeping their current color, applied to the current outfit slot only: Change Short Style, Change Medium Style, Change Long Style, and Change Updo Style. Each one pulls from styles tagged for that length, so you're not accidentally putting a pixie cut on a Sim you've been meaning to grow out. If upgrading, run dsn_build_hair_list to rebuild your catalog with the new tags the length features need to function.
The other major addition is the Ancestral Hair Color Fix, an optional feature that restricts Sims with the darkest skin tones or Asian and Islander name templates to historically appropriate hair colors: black, neutral black, dark brown, and for adults, black salt-and-pepper. Eyebrows and facial hair are updated to match. Auto-fix for this feature is off by default. Enable it by setting ANCESTRAL_FIX=1 in the config file, or run the new Restore Ancestral Color pie menu option on individual eligible Sims.
Also new: bulk fix commands. dsn_hair_fix_all applies the standard whitelist hair fix to all eligible Sims in your save at once. dsn_hair_fix_ancestral does the same for the ancestral color fix. Both skip Sims assigned to residential lots.
All three updates are live on CurseForge now!
