The Strawberries Are Finally Coming Back—and They’re Bigger Than Ever! 🍓

Come harvest strawberries with me inside the high tunnel!

Earlier this season, production had slowed down and the berries were much smaller than I wanted. After adding shade cloth, cleaning and correcting my EC meter, and getting the Dosatron properly dialed in, the plants have completely turned around.

Now I’m seeing more flowers, healthier plants, and beautiful big strawberries again. I had already harvested eight pounds when I filmed this, and by the time I finished, I had 12 quarts ready for the farmers market!

In this video, I’ll show you how I carefully harvest each berry with clippers, which ones I leave to ripen a little longer, and a few of the jobs waiting for me next—including removing another round of runners.

Strawberries are still one of my favorite crops to harvest. There is just something so satisfying about lifting the leaves and finding those bright red berries hiding underneath.

I’m sharing this video free so you can get a little look at what I post here on Patreon. Members get even more farm updates, growing tips, behind-the-scenes videos, personal moments, and content you won’t see anywhere else.

And yes…I may have saved a few strawberries to enjoy with ice cream later. 🍓😉

Love,
Katy
