Cyrus is either completely misinformed on Iraq or is just straight up lying. The part where he claims the US “turned on” Fayyadh, the head of the PMF’s civilian chairman, is quite the claim. The US sanctioned Fayyadh after it was revealed he was working with the IRGC. It’s downright irresponsible that Mark and John let him say the shit he was saying in this episode. People in this comment section and the hosts seem to have been duped into believing that the US is randomly targeting militias in Iraq. No, the US knows who it is bombing and why. These groups in Iraq are targeting US forces. I was there last year, I know who fucking bombed me

Excellent episode as usual. Cyrus's observation about the Israeli economy was especially interesting, because I recall many analysts in 2024 forecasting doom for Israel because of a faltering economy and massive out migration.

Thanks for sticking up for Graber and Bookchin, I didn’t know Cyrus was an anarcho- hater.

Wonder if the targeting in Iraq was a byproduct of AI targeting, or just Trump admin idiocy.

Cyrus is just wrong about Iraq. He does not know what he is talking about or is lying. The PMF works closely with Iran to target US forces in Iraq, the PMFs current chief of staff for example used to be the general secretary of Kataib Hezbollah. Something Cyrus either didn’t know, or willfully obscured

Haven’t lot of Israelis left Israel. https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20260109-record-israeli-emigration-exposes-deep-crisis-at-heart-of-the-zionist-project/?amp

Cyrus is such a measured and informative guest to have on, great job guys. And this comes from a guy who grew up with hatred for this name drilled into him!

Cyrus is the Alex Aviña of RWN. If you know, you know

B

I think Alex would be a good guest for RWN

Love how Cyrus says "more than a hunch." Real OGs don't talk about their sources.

What significance does the Islamic resistance in Syria group opposing Israel have at present? Their initial leader was apparently killed and they have a new person now.

I haven't seen them do anything other than announce their existence

Cyrus is living in an alternate reality if he thinks Ghouta was a regime attack

Y
Yiannis Kouros · May 10, 2026

It was obviously a triple false-flag attack with the sarin bombs being supplied by CIA-backed Greek Cypriots to Turkish Kurds. All other lamestream media narratives are fake news.

J
JoR · May 9, 2026

Around l 20 minutes in Cyrus referenced a poem. I think this is genuinely the first time in 600+ episodes someone besides John did that, without being asked 😂

The combination of shitty intelligence and AI driven target lists is probably why the US is randomly targeting one time allies in Iraq

W

“Don’t call it a ceasefire, I been bombing here for years”
