Radio War Nerd EP #108 — Uyghur Separatism Today (Uighur History, Pt. 3)
Guest: Carl Zha, podcaster
The War Nerd brings an old favorite, Carl Zha, back on the show to talk more about Uyghur history and separatism—this time, we focus on current Uyghur-Han tensions, recent riots and attacks. This is the third in a series of Radio War Nerd episodes on Uyghur history & China (see EP 83 and EP 81).

I love the sheer depth of RWN material. Good to look back at this several years into the Adrian Zenz Xinjiang hysteria
A French guy named Marc Boulet lived years illegally in China in the late 80s, and got official ID papers by passing as a Uighur. He wrote a book "In the skin of a Chinese man" that's worth a read as a snapshot of that era in China. He did the same thing in India and Albania. https://www.amazon.fr/Dans-peau-Chinois-Marc-Boulet/dp/2736000730
Has he ever been translated to English or German? I can't find any reference to such but I'm crap at research. Looks interesting but my French runs to about 20 words.
I am going to shamelessly plug our latest CLASH! episode where I talk in details about Chinese Social Media, Internet Censorship, and influence of KPop and Japanese Porn in Modern China : https://www.patreon.com/posts/censored-on-15290370
SELLOUT! ;)

This may sound a little lame, but this podcast has genuinely made my life better. I learn so much every week. Really keeps me from getting down about the monotony of life. And I get to peek into the weird world of Chinese social media via Carl's Facebook page. Keep up the great work, guys.
Does it sound a little lame? probably; but if it does call me lame as well. Not just the fascinating interviews but after years of following Mark and John I find it comforting to hear them talk about the state of the world and share interesting personal anecdotes at the end of the podcast. I could listen to a whole 'War Nerd Extra' or 'The Ames Report with John Dolan' every week on top of this.
Fascinating interview with Carl. Someday I want to hear the story of how the Saudi woman blew up at the white American prig.
