Triple Piano out Early Next Week

Triple Piano video, audio, plus the epic Making Of video are all basically done! Henry and I still have to do a bit of coordinating with intros/outros, sending our files back and forth and assembling and uploading to the proper channels, etc, so we’re currently planning for a Monday release for both videos.

The picture above is a screenshot from the making of video, which includes a hand-cut-and-sewn space-time diagram using video frames in stereographic projection, to show the space-time symmetry.

I am SO happy with how the making-of video came out. The actual Triple Piano video was full of frustrations and new things and banging my head against walls for what felt like forever, but for the Making Of I was back in my wheelhouse, explaining interesting concepts and trying to come up with effective visuals. So instead of a simple little making-of with some screenshots of video editing, I went all out. Sure it took a little longer but it is SO AWESOME and I hope you love it as much as I do :D

Next up will be this year’s Pi Day video! We’re only a few weeks away.

And at the same time I’ve got some easy ambisonic spherical music projects for my 2nd channel I’d like to poke at now that I know how. And more secret arts that may or may not have to do with Project Butterfly.

Thank you again for sticking with me during this long two-videos-at-once project. It means so, so much to me. And at the same time that I’m trying to learn a new work-life balance that includes the life part! It gives me more confidence that I can work on long ambitious projects in the future.

Next time, though, maybe more ambitious concepts and less ambitious visual and audio effects =P

Also an extra thank you to those of you who have also helped me with equipment from the Amazon wish list. I've been noticing lately how much it really all adds up, not just the essentials but also all the things that make both work and life just a little easier and more colorful.

When I cut my evening and weekend working hours, the first thing that went out the window has been social media and internet presence, including responding to emails and messages, and also including some Patreon stuff. I'd also intended to get some more merch ready in time for Pi Day because honestly I think the math shirts of the world could be better, but that went out the window too because I wanted these videos DONE.

I'm hoping by the end of the year to have figured out the right balance in a sustainable way, without completely ignoring one thing or the other. Thanks to y'all I'm in no rush and can work effectively while I figure it all out :)

I'd like to do a Q+A or livestream or vlog or something here just for y'all, so let me know what you'd like to see or know. There's lots of vlog-like things I wouldn't be interested in making for a public audience but here it's just us. Let me know your thoughts.

...Obviously not working past 6pm or on weekends also went out the window once I started stressing about getting this all done before March =P Ok, later!

More of walk-the-dog while you ponder over math and life. Please!

Sweet! Not that you need any extra inspiration, but I'm flying from the US to NZ on Pi Day. I'll be thinking about Pi and volumes (not areas) all day...

Some short little vlogs every once in a while just briefly talking about what kind of projects you’re working on for that day would be really cool. Something that wouldn’t take up very much time and you could edit into a few minutes of video so that they could be quick and fun to make. :D
