Where SimSweep is Going & What's To Come 😏

Alright so I've been thinking about this for a bit and I finally feel like I have a clear picture of where everything is headed. Figured I'd share it with you guys since you're literally the reason this thing exists lol

Quick recap

SimSweep started as a basic scanner. "Here's your mods folder, here's what's broken, go fix it." That was v1.

v2 turned into... a lot more than I planned honestly πŸ˜… Themes, malware scanning, the browser extensions, save health, Patch Day Mode, content source tracking. I kept adding stuff because you guys kept having good ideas.

SimSweep v3: "SimSweep already knows"

Here's the thing that's been bugging me. Right now SimSweep is reactive. You open it, you scan, you look at the results. Cool. But what if you didn't have to do that? What if you opened SimSweep after a game update and it already knew which of your mods broke?

Not because YOU scanned. Because hundreds of other SimSweep users already scanned and the app figured it out for everyone.

Patch day won't suck anymore. Green badges on mods that are confirmed working, red on ones that broke. No more guessing, no more "is MCCC broken again" posts on Reddit.

Your dashboard actually does something. "3 of your mods were reported broken in the last 24 hours." You see problems before you even scan.

Crash logs stop being gibberish. "This crash is from an outdated version of MCCC. 312 other users hit the same thing. Update to the latest version." Like imagine if error messages were actually helpful for once lol

Community fix suggestions. Other users who already dealt with a problem can leave tips. "This conflict is cosmetic, just ignore it" or "delete the older file." Crowdsourced troubleshooting that gets better the more people use it.

Your folder over time. Health score going up or down, how fast it's growing, what you've been adding and removing. Scan history that actually tells a story.

"Is this mod working?" check-ins. One gentle prompt per session asking if a mod is working for you. Builds health scores for every mod so everyone can see at a glance what's reliable.

These features ship as regular updates, same as always. Bug fixes and QoL stuff keep coming too. The v3 MOMENT is when the dashboard gets completely reworked around all this intelligence and the whole app clicks together. So you're not waiting for v3, you're watching it get built.

All community data is completely opt-in. No file names, no folder paths, nothing personal. Just anonymous mod hashes and status reports. I know the sims 4 community has been through it with the malware situation so I want to be clear about that upfront.

v2 was "SimSweep tells you what's wrong and helps you fix it."

v3 is "SimSweep already knows."

Community CC Catalog

SimSweep already extracts thumbnails and metadata from every file in your mods folder. The browser extension already captures where you downloaded everything. All that data is basically building a visual CC catalog in the background without anyone doing extra work.

Imagine being able to browse CC from Patreon, TSR, Nexus, CurseForge, and Loverslab all in one searchable place, filtered by category, age, gender, whatever. You find something you like, it takes you to the download page. No APIs from any of these sites needed. No ads. No partnerships. Just community data from people who chose to opt in. The more people who use it, the bigger and better the catalog gets. This would be it's own separate app that works along side SimSweep.

ModOrigin: AI-powered Mod Creation

I've also been building something called ModOrigin. This isn't new, I originally built it during one of my every-other-month two-week Minecraft obsessions a few months back lol It started as an AI-powered diagnostic and mod generation tool for Minecraft servers, but I've been quietly building out a Sims 4 knowledge base and training it to understand how Sims 4 modding actually works. Not surface level stuff, the real internals. DBPF format, resource keys, SimData cloning, Python 3.7 bytecode, group IDs per pack, which things need XML tuning vs script mods vs both. All the stuff that takes modders months to figure out on their own.

I know AI has a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths right now and I get it, but this isn't AI generated art or AI replacing creators. This is more like having a modding mentor that actually knows what it's talking about. You ever spend 4 hours trying to figure out why your lot trait isn't showing up in the picker and it turns out you were missing a DisplayInfo SimData? Or compile a script mod and it just silently doesn't load because you used Python 3.11 instead of 3.7? ModOrigin knows all of that already.

You describe what you want in plain English and it builds it. Tuning overrides, Python script mods, full lot traits with all the interconnected resources (and trust me, lot traits are like 11+ files that all need to reference each other correctly). It knows the game's limitations so it won't promise you things that are impossible, and it knows the workarounds for things that seem impossible but aren't. It's not replacing mod creators, it's making it so more people can actually become one.

What All of This Means For Your Membership

Decrypt is about to cover a lot more than just SimSweep. You'll get the full depth on all the v3 community intelligence (patch day breakdowns, community data, fix suggestions), a monthly ModOrigin token allowance to try AI mod generation, and on the CC catalog side you'll get one-click install with conflict checking and malware scanning, collections and wishlists, "already in your folder" badges, and alerts when creators you follow post new CC.

I'm also adding a new tier above Decrypt called Override. Pricing isn't set yet but the idea is simple: if Decrypt gives you a taste of ModOrigin, Override gives you the full thing. Way more tokens per month for serious mod creation, complex script mods, multi-resource lot traits, whatever you want to build. On the catalog side, Override members get AI-powered CC recommendations based on your mods folder, pre-install compatibility reports that check pack requirements and conflicts, and advanced filtering by community health scores and compatibility with your specific mod list. Override is for people who want the full SYVR ecosystem.

The Big Picture

The whole thing is basically a flywheel. More users = smarter apps. Every scan makes patch day data more accurate. Every health check makes mod scores more reliable. Every fix suggestion helps the next person. Every download captured makes the catalog bigger. It all feeds into itself.

SimSweep diagnoses your mods folder. ModOrigin helps you create mods. The CC catalog helps you find new CC. They're separate tools but they all feed into each other and your membership covers all of them.

As soon as you pledge to Decrypt it should automatically unlock the features in SimSweep without recieving a key, but it was failing in the backend. I updated it so you should have Decrypt features now.

So, is ModOrigin more like Clippy, showing me tutorials? Or is it more like if I ask ChatGPT to write a Python script for me? Only one of those is a good thing.
