Here's what's coming in SimSweep v3
Alright so 2.0 just dropped and I'm already mapping out v3. I know. But hear me out, because some of this stuff is needed and I want you to see where this is going.
Every feature below ships as Operative-only during early access, then gets sorted into the right tier when v3.0.0 officially launches. You're seeing this first.
CC Dependency Mapping
This one's been in my head since I built broken CC detection. SimSweep already knows which files reference which meshes. Right now it uses that to tell you "this recolor is broken because its mesh is missing." Dependency mapping is the flip side of that: "if you delete this mesh, these 14 recolors break."
So before you nuke a file, SimSweep tells you exactly what else dies with it. Every file gets a dependency count. You click it, you see the full chain. You try to delete something important, you get a warning with a list of everything that depends on it.
Nobody does this right now. When someone asks "can I safely delete this mesh pack?" the answer has always been "maybe, good luck." Not anymore.
Pre-Install CC Scanner
Drag a .package file onto SimSweep before it goes anywhere near your Mods folder. Full scan. Does it conflict with something you already have? Is it a recolor that needs a mesh you don't own? Do you already have this exact file under a different name? Is it safe to install or is something off?
Basically a bouncer for your Mods folder. Check before you install. I think this one's going to spread fast because the screenshot of a "safe to install" vs "has issues" verdict is the kind of thing people share without being asked.
Malware and Suspicious Script Detection
This one's been on my radar for a while. .ts4script files are just renamed zips with Python code inside. SimSweep can crack those open and look at what the code actually does. Is it importing network libraries? Trying to access files outside the game folder? Making outbound connections? Running system commands?
You get a risk rating per script mod. Clean, suspicious, or flagged. Plus it plugs into the pre-install scanner so you can check scripts before they ever touch your system.
The community's getting more paranoid about malicious mods and honestly they should be. Right now the advice is "only download from trusted creators" which is fine until a trusted creator's account gets compromised. This gives you an actual layer of protection.
Lot and Household CC Audit
"Which CC is in this build?" is one of the most asked questions in the Sims 4 community and nobody has a good answer. SimSweep will parse your tray data and reverse-look up every referenced package to give you a complete CC list per lot or household.
Want to share a Gallery build? Here's every piece of CC it needs. Want to know if you can delete some old CC without breaking a saved lot? SimSweep tells you. Want to figure out which CC you could remove without breaking anything you've actually placed? There's a clean mode for that.
Smarter Crash Logs
SimSweep already reads your crash logs and points at the mod that caused it. V3 goes deeper. Instead of just "this mod crashed," it pattern-matches against known error signatures and translates them into plain English.
So instead of a wall of XML and "NoneType object has no attribute expected_kwargs," you get "outdated custom career mod, probably needs a patch update" with a confidence rating and a suggested fix. The error database starts with the most common patterns from forums and community reports and grows over time.
Save File Health Monitor
This is the big one. The longest play on the roadmap.
SimSweep currently monitors your CC health. This extends that to your actual game. Save file parsing, corruption detection, size tracking over time, broken family trees, sims stuck in limbo, orphaned lot data. All the stuff that slowly rots a save file from the inside.
You'd get a pre-play integrity check ("your save looks healthy" or "3 issues detected"), a timeline showing how your save has changed over time, and backup recommendations when things start looking off.
Forums are full of people who lost hundreds of hours of gameplay to save corruption they didn't see coming. Nobody monitors this. It's completely uncharted territory.
Plus some smaller stuff
Exportable scan reports, scan diffs so you can see what changed between sessions, scheduled background scans, and a CC organization assistant that suggests folder cleanup based on what you actually use.
---
That's the v3 map. Some of this will shift around as I build it, but the direction is locked. SimSweep already tells you what's wrong. V3 starts telling you what's about to go wrong.
If any of these features have you more hyped than the others, let me know. It helps me figure out what to prioritize. 🖤
If you don't feel comfortable testing out the new features as they release (they will be regular app updates) I can un-whitelist you. Just let me know.
