HEART OF SILVER - Excerpt 4

We only went out because of an invitation. Kept it small but we did see fireworks. And I worked that morning. But I thought of it more as a "we've survived this long" thing. Had we not had an invite, we would have stayed home and I have a minecraft fireworks show i usually watch every year.

I spent the day playing a video game with friends. It was a good day for it.

Pouring rain where i am, its like nature is dissapointed

Yep just spent the day cleaning now its about 7pm so getting ready for bed.

There's a good take on it by fellow Northwesterner Megan McGovern over on the face. I, too, remember celebrating the 🦬-tentacle fondly. I cannot stomach this celebration that has been co-opted by the shallow end of the pool.

I spent the morning working on material for a conference that one of my volunteer organizations puts on. This afternoon, so far, I have mowed the lawn and washed the lawnmower. The rest of the time I'm in our well insulated house, ignoring my idiot neighbors and hanging out with my Very Good Dog.

Did a small cookout at work, but nothing else. We just use the holiday as an excuse for a long lunch, celebrated our team, not our country.

Today is my family reunion which as a Mexican American family our meetup and joy feels like a big fuck you to this current administration

It's my only day off

Just staying home.

Just hanging out with a couple of friends. We never have big plans for the 4th

Spending time with Mom. Hanging my flag upside-down... our country is in distress

I’ll be spending the day with family, just chilling. None of us are interested in festivities right now.
