Clear Tote Bags: Yay or Nay?
Good morning, lovelies!
As you may or may not know, I use a company called Printful for my merch. I do not have the time, skill, or space to create, store, and ship all the merch that I sell, so I use a print-to-order company to do all that stuff for me. (This means I get a very minimal profit, but that's also largely because I keep the prices as low as possible without actively losing money, but I digress.)
There have been some issues with the eco-friendly tote bags I've been using. Namely, the black design has been out of stock for ages, and the canvas design is kinda...blegh. At least in my opinion. "Customer is always right in matters of taste" and all that, but it's got me thinking about expanding my horizons a little. And as it turns out, Printful now has a clear tote bag option.
I've got it up as part of the 2026 Pride collection (which is temporary; those designs all go bye-bye on July 1st). Here's what it looks like:

I might throw in the Chibi CaFae designs, too, if there's demand for it.
Now, I'm the type of person who doesn't really care about bags or accessories. I make several of mine (chronic crocheter), or just use free ones I get at various conventions or even stores. So before I clutter my merch store even further, I'd like to know if there's an actual demand for this. These wouldn't go up until after Pride, when there's room and I'm not competing against myself in marketing.

So not to be that person, but I ordered Merch April 30th and still haven't received it. Not sure where or how to reach out, but a month seems to be a bit of a long turn around. Anyone able to offer some guidance?

Literally thinking how all events event (sports concerts, other major planned events) where you are required to have a clear bag perfect!
My main issue is the clear being a plastic, I’d want to know more about its production and how eco friendly it is
Honestly, I loathe clear plastic bags… but I also have to use one if I go to my kids high school events. So while I wouldn’t be likely to buy one normally, I can see a big use case.
I love this, a lot of venues where I live now require a clear bags at events for security reasons. I would also use it for a beach/pool bag.
I personally can't stand a clear bag. I get super self conscious, and also that plastic against my skin is a massive sensory fuck no.
I do love the designs, to make it clear. I just hate the clear plastic. Do they perhaps have a regular fabric or canvas option? That would be more my speed, and maybe they have an option to have both?
Im very anti clear bag personally, but i do see a handfull of people using them around town.
Personally i hate clear bags, but i also never change out my bag unless i have absolutely no choice, like for an event. Maybe a summer clear option?

For me, this would only be used for events and I probably only go to those once or twice every 10 years. They are pretty, but since I don't want people to see inside my bag day to day, this would just become clutter.
I really don't like clear bags where people can see my stuff, plus they're plastic-y and I hate the texture. But i adore these designs and would seriously consider buying one.
I hate to say it but I would probably go for the beige one over this just because I wouldn't want people to see into my bag
I don't like people seeing what's in my bag, it's great for thieves so they can see exactly what you have! Also, more plastic in the world? No thanks. The only thing I can think of is it's good for going to concerts but would people take a tote to that? Also for wet swimming costumes etc but that's it
The Paralegal one looks awesome, i would definitely buy a single one of those. Can we please get a limited time offer for all these designs?
I'm honestly kind of neutral on this one. My previous experiences with clear plastic totes have always been pretty meh. They tend to get uncomfortably sticky in the summer and brittle/fragile in the winter. The few I've had in the past were great in fall and spring as far as handling goes though. Concert goers would probably really like these. I'm pretty sure most venues perfer clear bags these days.

My vote is yes for certain events you have to have a clear bag so they can see what you're bringing in and I still want to take the merch with me to events
I would use them, but mostly for shopping at malls or stores. I live in a city that charges bag fees, but you can't use your own bags while shopping if they aren't clear or mesh.
Clear totes are great for going to events and things like WNBA games
I usually only use a clear tote when I’m going to a concert
I love how they look but I don’t really like when ppl see what’s inside my bag. But I would take this to the beach!
