Two videos - One song - 12 years apart
I wanted to share something really special with you all 💙
In these two videos, I’m singing Ave Maria — one recorded when I was just 10 years old, and the other from last week at 22. It feels quite surreal to look back and see how much has changed, and yet how much has stayed the same.
The more recent recording was actually submitted as part of an audition, alongside another song that has been with me since I was very young — Let It Go. It made the whole experience feel very full-circle.
I’ll be sharing more details about the audition process (and the outcome!) with you here on Patreon in the next few weeks… I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

To listen to Lucy's 10-years old rendition, I have been deeply impressed and understood that Lucy had already been the great singer of centuries. I must say I have been very lucky to find you out through YouTube and very happy to meet Lucy and speak with Lucy in Tokyo.

One can say a Vocal Child Prodigy, perfect pitch, control, way beyond your age of 10. I give thanks once more for your wonderful parents in having produced so many recorded videos, and photos, of your journey, for all of us to enjoy.

I bet the people who were sitting in that church 12 years ago vividly remember the stunning performance of a 10-yr-old and knew you would have a future in singing. Carol Hudson (if I have the name right) must have felt very blessed to have you for a student... as for the audition, I can't imagine what a talent like you need to audition for.. but good luck and I'm sure we're all curious to learn more. The audition item is very interesting. I can't imagine you ever needing to audition for anything! "Let It Go" should be perfect. Your earlier version, I believe you were 14, was absolutely beautiful, exactly how it should have been done originally, so much better than what's-her-name!

Gosh, gosh, Lucy, I am breathless! I hear this and I ask, "Lucy Thomas?" And the undeniable answer is "Yes, Yes"! But at 10 YEARS OLD? Oh, my! The same beautiful timbre, but younger. The same beautiful passaggio, the perfect alignment and resonance, and your flowing breath that carries you into your upper range with openness and perfect placement. All this at 10! This is the reason for such excitement beginning even so long ago. It makes me wish so much that I could have been there from the beginning, and for those who were, how incredibly blessed they are.
